The family that owns the Uros Tikarani Lodge (Carlos and Maribel Lujano), are kind and hospitable. The Lodge itself was spectacular: comfortable, secure, very well located (nothing matches being on a floating island on Lake Titicaca!), and warm. The food was also a plus. Carlos and Maribel gave us all the information we needed about tours, the lake, and the Uros community.

Eddy and his family are wonderful. They made getting to and from their island so easy (and we had a very early bus when we left). We stayed two nights and whilst this experience may not be for everyone, it has been a highlight of our trip so far. The accommodation is (and has to be) very simple. You're on a floating platform of reeds! But it's a good size, the bed is comfortable and lovely and warm (helped by Eddy's mama's wrapped hot water bottles). It gets COLD at night as others have mentioned but tucked up snugly it doesn't matter. Bathroom facilities are verrrry basic, if you like cold water you're in for a treat. And it really isn't the place for anyone unsteady on their feet. You're walking on planks on top of reeds and climbing uneven stairs. If these are not an issue then treat yourself to a couple of nights there, it's magic. Also, Eddy includes a great 2 hour tour which is a must. He took us out at 10am and we had lunch at one of the other islands (also included).

Uros Samarana Uta Lodge ligger i Puno og har solterrasse og bjergudsigt. Titicaca-søen ligger 7 km fra overnatningsstedet. We had a great time at the Samaraña Uta Lodge! The triple room was so beautiful! Beds were big and comfortable. Food was included, a boat trip around the islands was also offered. Cesar and Lucy were very friendly and helpful. We were so thankful that they help us to coordinate with LATAM to get our delayed luggage delivered directly to the lodge the next day. What a nice surprise!

A very lovely location with lovely people. The food was good and the family that worked on the small island were very nice to us.
