When I first pulled up I was thinking “what have I done” but when I stepped inside I knew it going to be good, and it was. Plenty of space to move around. The history there is fascinating and I want to explore it more now. I’ll be back again to see it all.

Sweetcorn was a fabulous cottage with ample room, comfortable beds, abundant kitchen equipment, and generous breakfast provisions. The fresh farm eggs were delicious! Especially when enjoyed on the verandah with morning sun and picture perfect rural outlook. Perfect retreat at the end of a long day, or better still, just stay at the site all day. Thank you.

Evandale is one of the most unique places in the world I have ever visited. So much interesting history, natural beauty, so many charming little cottages & the residents are all so charming, friendly & always seem keen to help any tourists in any way possible. It is very easy to get around whether on foot or by car 🚗. The Evandale markets on Sundays are always interesting & the penny farthing bicycle races in February each year are a must to see. I always say if there was anywhere in Australia I could live other than Newcastle, my home town which I love, it would be Evandale ,for sure.

This is one of the best stays we have ever had.
This is one of the best stays we have ever had. The Shepherd’s Hut at Evandale was just gorgeous - cute and cosy, clean and immaculate and incredibly comfortable. We would like to thank our hosts, Julie and Gary for being so generous and welcoming - they made us feel right at home. This is one location we will definitely stay at again. Evandale has a rich history and has some superb churches, buildings and homes dating back to the early-mid 1800s.

Our favourite place in Tasmania.......we keep coming back from Qld. Love the history and the unique buildings. The markets were splendid, also the National Trust buildings nearby. Don't miss Woolmers and Brickenden Farm. Great being only 10 minutes from Launceston airport.

Evandale is an historic town which takes one back in time - a joy for people who like such experiences. We loved doing the self guided Historical Walk which highlights buildings in the immediate township area & their fascinating histories. We enjoyed The Clarendon Arms for a special occasion out, but there isn't a lot open so plan accordingly.

Evandale is a small , unique Georgian town that’s steeped in history. It’s close to Launceston and the airport.
There are many sights within driving distance such as the home and burial site of the renowned artist John Glover to impressive historical homes which are opened to the public. You can easily walk around Evandale , viewing historical houses and landmarks but to have the optimum experience in the surrounding area , I would highly recommend hiring a car if you’re arriving in the area by plane.
