The cottage was extremely well positioned in Port Arthur and every convenience to make our stay comfortable had been thought of. It really made our day to have a tour of the farm and meet the highland cows, and we’re very appreciative to the hosts for giving us their time to show us around.

The actual Convict area is simply amazing as are the free talks that occurred during the day. We were not fully prepared for the lack of outlets for food, lack of super market, restaurants etc. The one good out let offered a range of take away food but not good!

The historic site is magnificent and well managed. The general store is very disappointing, you should not rely on it if you are self catering
Gabriel's, the restaurant by the beach , was excellent I recommend it.
The restaurant at the Port Arthur motel featured poorly trained staff who seemed unaware of what service means. My girlfriend was served lukewarm seafood chowder with both the spoon and the garlic bread partially submerged. She asked for the chowder to be properly heated, this was seemingly done in a microwave. It was then returned with the same soggy bread.

Couldn't get into ghost tours or 1830 restaurant.. they were closed. Tried to get helicopter flight.. left message but never responded. Only 1 decent restaurant but the meals a bit light on considering price point and didn't seem to serve full meal. Loved the unzoo.

The Port Arthur area is beautiful, with glorious scenery and friendly people. The restoration of the Port Arthur Historical Site and the emphasis on truth versus “fairytale fantasy” does a great deal to enhance its appeal. It is not the miserable place that Australian historical literature has traditionally portrayed it as, but we discovered that it was, in fact, a combination of both progressive and regressive measures to reform prisoners. This is made clear by the information available. The staff are very responsive to visitors’ needs and questions, and literally go out of their way to help. Staff were always around everywhere on the grounds, and there was no shortage of help available. One example of this was when we were walking up towards the Soldier’s Memorial Avenue, and a chap driving a buggy asked if we wanted a lift. He then took us on a short, personalised tour of the entire grounds, answering the many questions we had and clarifying what we’d heard (thank you so much). Also, on our walking tour, I discovered I had not booked a time for the harbour cruise, so after we’d finished, our tour guide took the time to ring Reception and get us on the next cruise. The guided tours vary, however, according to personal knowledge and the sometimes political stance of the guides.

We didn't visit the Port Arthur historic site this time as we've been before, but if you've not ever been we would recommend that you do.
Our accommodation was a short walk to Stewarts Bay Beach, the local shops and the Pennicott wilderness cruises office. We loved walking at Safety Cove Beach, which is a very short drive from Port Arthur - a great crescent of white sand backed by trees, where you are often the only people there. As you drive there, the view across the water to the cliffs and sea stacks is fabulous, and you also get glimpses into the Port Arthur site grounds.
Clean , comfortable, very good value fir money and an excellent location. Older style units on the outside but nothing to dislike on the inside. The owners provided all the little touches that made you feel welcome. Soap, as
shampoos, lovelu thick white towels, quality linen, bottled water in the fridge. Port Arthur was 2 mins drive away. In fact the view from the rear cabins was over it. There was also a restaurant on site but we did not use it. Would highly recommend this place if you are visiting Port Arthur.
Viv has set up a beautiful accommodation in lovely part of Tasmania. It is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and had everything you could need and one of the best breakfasts we've had. Plus new bread and biscuits. Copious amounts of information about the local area Anya detailed folder on how all the utilities work. Viv was a lovely and helpful hostess. This place has everything you need and more. Thanks for a lovely stay, Viv. We highly recommend a stay here.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a layover before heading to the Port Arthur Historical Site the next day. It was State of Origin night and the wifi certainly did its job. The restaurant was great, especially sitting by the fire while we waited for our meals. Can't fault the place. With an onsite bottle shop, we were set to watch the Maroons secure another win while on a wonderful holiday in Tassie. Thanks to all staff!
The cabin looked so very basic outside, even spartan, that we were a bit worried. But once you open the door of your cabin .....WOW! It is modern, very well-equipped with modern full kitchen, and a very modern bathroom, wonderful hot water. Extremely clean and comfy. And close to Port Arthur historic site. We'd very highly recommend it.
Staff were super friendly and helpful particularly with a minor hiccup I had made with our booking. The owners rectified things promptly and easily. The facilities were great for the kids with great activities and safe areas for them to roam and play. The cabins were clean, tidy and well equipped. Highly recommend staying here!
Its location to the Port Arthur historical site. Your room key opens the gate. We looked through all the buildings close to the visitors centre in the morning, then checked in and went back and visited the buildings at the back end.
Value for money. Cheapest place we stayed in Tasmania
Best property we stayed in on our trip to Tasmania.Value for money was exceptional. Everything you could possibly need . Laundry available . Restaurant available over road and plenty just down road at township . Highly recommend to all travellers heading that way .
Our stay was very comfortable and the property was much bigger than we initially thought. Great value for money with the amount of extras in the house + a coffee machine is always a bonus!
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Port Arthur.
Convenient location, to Port Arthur and attractions. Amenities are basic, bottle water supplied for a cuppa and brush teeth. A restaurant on site which is a bit pricey, but cheaper than the others. Bed was comfortable.
we loved the local knowledge from the hosts! The cottage was amazing, warm and cozy a nice break from the hotel rooms. A friend and I stayed here for one night and enjoyed dinner at the Port Arthur Motor Inn
Very comfortable and well equipped cabin in a great location within walking distance to the Port Arthur historic site and a short drive from numerous walks also a good restaurant within the complex
Everything, highly recommend the safari tents, 2 adults, 2 children with lots to do in the area. Wildlife, walk tracks, beach, its all there and our best stay in Tasmania.
Proximity to the historic site, restaurant served delicious food at reasonable prices. Great view of the buildings and bay of the Port Arthur penal colony
The property was in an absolutely gorgeous location, right on the water with a view of the Port Arthur Historic Site. The property was really comfortable.
