For access Brig Bahnhoffplatz, you'd struggle to find anything this convenient and at this price point. Breakfast is in a spacious room on the 2nd floor affording views over the activities of the railways next door. Staff too are wonderful and incredibly welcoming anf helpful.

Brig is a pretty town surrounded by mountains.
Brig is a pretty town surrounded by mountains. There are lots of restaurant options and shops and a sweet old town. There is a very striking Palace to visit and some lovely nearby walks, including one to a gorge. They have a local pool and a set of thermal pools a short bus ride away.

Great wee town.
Great wee town. The centre was beautiful, as were the surrounding views. We ate at a local wee German restaurant and they seemed surprised we never booked! getting around Brig was easy...just walk, it's not that big. Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley.
Brig is a central town within the Rhone valley. It represents a train junction both east to west and north to south allowing access to the cities of Bern & Milan. The town is quite and has a few shops and restaurants which only stay open for a short time in the evening. The centre of the town is car free so peaceful to walk around at night. Brig offers transport links by both bus and train to many of the ski resorts in the area. Be aware that travel by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn cost 150CF for two people. Drinks & food are expensive in the town but it is safe and pleasant to walk around. There are numerous walks along the river and into the hillside.

Good location in Switzerland, with direct trains from Zürich and Geneva airports and Basel SBB station (a bus goes from Basel airport to Basel SBB), just over an hour by train from Berne. Brig was much quieter than Zermatt and the hotel was a lovely place to return to for the night. Close to restaurants, and the train station and in beautiful surroundings. Such friendly staff, spacious rooms for us and our children, and a delicious breakfast. Great value for money and the ideal place to meet the Glacier Express for the Brig to Chur leg (we did the Zurich to Zermatt section on the regular train). Would definitely return.RanuiNew Zealand

Self-check in is not so scary (but look out for the national letters machine cannot find the reservation with them - it is better to use simple latin characters or have the number of reservation without dots - Booking.com's print includes some dots). Wonderful views, and almost every room has balcony. Mountains are around so view is always ok. Great Swiss breakfast with cheese... Prices are really good considering Switzerland...

Hotel is having very good Gymnasium with the best of equipments. Infact we could use the night gym to our satisfaction. The hotel( daughter of the house) allowed early check in, and ensured pick up from the train station. For drop off, the son of the house/owner himself drove us to the station. This more than ensured that despite the property being away from town, we felt quite comfortable during our stay.

The room is to our surprise bigger than expected. It even comes with a nice balcony, which we sadly didn’t have time to enjoy, except for hanging laundry dry. It is also very clean.
