This hotel has the best location, with views over the Staubbach Falls. Some rooms have balconies on the waterfall side. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a good selection. The biggest asset of this hotel is the staff, personalized service and they have some really good advice about Lauterbrunnen and the area. This hotel was one of the original in Lauterbrunnen. The hotel serves breakfast only but there is a picnic room where you can prepare and eat your own meals if you want to eat in for lunch or dinner. But, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby to choose from. It is a short walk from the Train Station, taking about 10 minutes with luggage and the local bus goes past the door with 2 stops nearby, particularly good if you don't want to walk to the train station.

We really enjoyed our stay there. The room was clean and the view was beautiful. We took picture of the same view every morning when the sun rise and in the evening. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing all info we needed for the trip both to Interlaken and to Jungfrau. Breakfast was very good too. Too bad the weather was too cold and it was raining so we didn't get a chance to use the swimming pool. Maybe next time. We stayed there for 3 nights and will definitely stay again.

I was so happy with my choice of this hotel for my brief stay in Interlaken. We were a family of four. The accommodation was spacious and the bedrooms( one each for two of us) were sufficiently big with space to spread out two huge suitcases.
Our rooms overlooked the snow clad Alps. We woke up to scenic views. The bathroom was neat and tidy.
There was a small lobby as you enter your family suite for your footwear. There was a long mirror which was super convenient.
The complimentary breakfast was the pie on the cake. Perfectly baked breads, dryfruits, fruits, jams, avocado dip, hummus, cold cuts, muffins, soft cup cakes, scrambled eggs, juices, hot beverages so on and so on. Being a vegetarian, I also had plenty of options. One can relax in the alfresco seating area with a cuppa and gape at the breathtaking views.
The staff were polite and helpful. The bus stop was located just outside the hotel. Interlaken West railway station was barely ten minutes from the hotel.
Overall a pleasant stay at Hotel Hirschen. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Interlaken.

Saxeten is a very small village in the middle of a mountainous nowhere!
For a "nature-only" fanatic, this is the place. The sound of cows' bells in the morning, the view of the mountains around, fresh air, etc., all these really charge you batteries for when going back to your city life.
BUT, if you want to get a place to sleep during you visiting Interlaken area (Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Jungfrau), you better think again!
The road to Saxeten is a 15 minutes rollercoaster! You have to have a strong heart to drive Saxeten-Interlaken a couple of times a day (and that's on good weather). Keep in mind that Switzerland is full of wonderful mountainous landscapes, so I don't recommend to stay in Saxeten, unless you can't find accommodation elsewhere in the area, for the dates of your trip.
