The landlady is very welcoming despite the language barrier and is happy to help with whatever is needed. The price for the room is really reasonable for the location and you are only sharing a bathroom with one room/two people max. The cooking facilities are very useful. The location is right by the beach, it takes a few minutes to walk to the area with restaurants and bars.

I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco.
I have been to CR twice now, both times I've stayed in Coco. The first time was a random selection based on a whim travel, but we had such an amazing time that we decided to bring more friends back 4 years later. We trained both times at Playa BJJ and did the sunset catamaran tour with Marlin del Rey both times. The second time, we rented a villa so we cooked alot of our own meals - the grocery stores, meat store, and fruit stands were amazing. The beach culture was great. A couple of us ended up using Uber and taxis - very manageable. Coconutz Brewhouse was great with their live music. El Capricho Mexican Restaurant & Bar was so much fun with a fishbowl drink and karaoke. Tortuga Bar was great. The boys hiked out to Isleta El Coco and had an amazing time. We hiked to La Leona waterfall - not super hard but requires mobility as you ramble alongside the rocky river for a few kilometers... absolutely worth it! We also went to Catarata Llanos del Cortes (another waterfall) where you can walk up to a lagoon and swim right in the waterfall. I would go back to Coco again - hands down.

The timing of our visit was great.
The timing of our visit was great. No crowds but hot, hot, hot and humid. April 27-May 3. Because so many people visit Costa Rica, the cost of food and just about everything isn't reasonable. We ate at the well known local restaurants which were expensive but good. Too much butter used with the fish, though I should have insisted on braised fish. We ate at Mar Azul. The Mexican restaurant was good. Note, for those who just jump in the car and pick a destination, beware that all the roads aren't paved. We went to Nosara and man-oh-man, though driving but ABSOLUTELY scenic. Glad we had a 4X4 and good ground clearance.

It is a family situation, very very basic.
It is a family situation, very very basic. Clean with a kitchen that had no cooking utilities other than a coffee maker & fridge that did not work.
I had a cooler, my own cooking supplies etc so it worked for me.
Radio & Tv could be a bit loud but shut down early.
I have lived in Latin America, so I understand a family situation where many may not!
I loved the hostess! I love the proximity to the beach in the downtown and if you don’t have a vehicle to get around, it’s perfect for that and super inexpensive! Bonuses for travellers who don’t want to be a hostel

Costa Rica is beautiful and the people are friendly and lovely to get to know. There are options for those who are active - think hiking through the rainforest, fishing, surfing or for relaxing - think sitting by the pool or ocean with a good book. The shopping is fun. There are animals and beautiful nature - volcanos, waterfalls, flowers to surround yourself with.

Easy drive from Liberia Airport.
Easy drive from Liberia Airport. The town is small enough to be friendly and just large enough to have what you need. The beach is nicely maintained and easy to access. The people was very friendly and although the language is Spanish, we didn't have any problems communicating.

Amazing views from the hills.
Amazing views from the hills. This is a quieter town but plenty of businesses to keep you entertained. CocoNutz and Zi Lounge are the most lively spots for night life. A variety of restaurants including Mexican, Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, BBQ and burgers. MegaSuper for groceries (had everything including liquor). I would happily stay here again.
Good location close to Coco beach, fun nightlife and stores. Very fun town.
On site staff are friendly and accomidating.
Pool was nice and comfortable.
Grounds are attractive with plants and outdoor furniture.
Overall a good deal with comfortable 2 bedrooms. beds are comfortable.
AC units work well. Thank goodness.
Stocked with dishes and basic appliances.
Secure in gated area.
If you like a heavy tourist area with loud music, variety of shopping and restaurants then this spot is in the heart of it all. The beach is a 5 min walk. However coco beach is ash like dark sand. So the water is muddy. But there’s live music on the beach at the restaurant. Vendors etc. room was clean. Breakfast was ok. Very basic.
Location, hotel is right in front of the beach. personnel was friendly. Prices seems fair compared to other options close by. Beach was peaceful and clean, beautiful sunsets. Bed was comfortable, AC worked great. Did not try the restaurant, but cocktails and fruit smoothies were tasty.
Air conditioner blows cold in every room. I loved the pool, So nice! Walking distance to the beach. The ambiance of the villa definitely gave vacation vibes. There was food and store close by. About a 12-15 minute walk to the coco beach strip with all the bars/restaurants!
Luis at the front desk was the best! He was very helpful with advice and recommendations. Great location, very close to the Coco Beach. Breakfast was very good. They have a restaurant on site for lunch and dinner, as well. high quality food. Cleaning services were great.
Great location, very nice condo! Coco is a lovely town with a nice beach, easy walking distance from the condo to restaurants and the beach. William from Costa Rica Brokers was so helpful with anything we needed for a great stay - many thanks to him!
The room was clean, and it had hot water, a refrigerator and air conditioning, all good points. The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the airport. There is regular bus service to the airport turnoff and also to the city of Liberia.
Right on the main strip. The owner/front desk lady was extremely helpful. Super close to main beach. Pool is not attached to hotel- but 100% worth going to. Front desk will arrange a paid taxi to bring you there.
Pool, Trivia Night, grocery on site. The owner was very nice and helpful. The hotel is located less than 100 meters from the beach area, which was nice. Also 150 meters from the main street for shopping.
close to the beach! allowed dogs. breakfast included after 7 am. The hammocks in the wonderful courtyard were great. This community in Coco Playa is nice everywhere we have stayed over the years.
The staff were always helpful, and the hotel manager was exceptional. Marine helped us sort out a small accident with our hire car which made our overall experience of this hotel exceptional.
- great terrace overlooking the beach
- the hostel is right at the beach of Playa del Coco (seperated by a small street without many cars)
