Lots to see and do for a family holiday, especially if you do not mind travelling a bit every day. Especially good if you like hiking in the many nearby woods and hills. In the city there was a zoo, botanic gardens, museums, galleries and several places to swim (indoors and outdoors). We also made trips to Zittau in Germany to ride on the steam railway, the three border point (CZ, DE, PL), Frydlant castle, the Jizerka hills and Bedrichov.

Liberec is a great city with plenty to do with a family of children between 4 and 12 years old. There are lots of great shopping malls, great parks for the kids which are much better than the UK, for food and eating out it’s cheaper than UK. The supermarket food prices are the same as UK. It’s easy to travel by bus or coach from Prague airport but I would recommend a car to make the most of it. It’s 90 minutes from Prague and the motorways and easy to drive on. Things we’d recommend- Aqua Park, Babylon, Fun Park Babylon, IQ Landia, Hop Arena a trampoline park, Park Mirakulum and Fajn Park are both worth a day out if you have a car, they are 90 mins from Liberec but worth it for kids 4-13 years old. The Eco Park in Liberec is great, the zoo, the museum and the area around there is beautiful with all the architecture. Definitely the nicest part of Liberec. And there are plenty of walks and nature to explore around Jested, Bedrichov, and Javornik which are all accessible by bus. All these areas have ski slopes but are great in summer too for the toboggan runs and parks and walks with the family. The main things are the quality of the parks, the rides, the swimming pool in Liberec is great and cheap! Slides, jacuzzi, hot and cold plunge pools and sauna and steam rooms. Also if you like Saunas try Saunia in the Forum shopping centre. This place is as good as any sauna and spa hotel in the UK FLR about £15. We’ll worth a visit and I can’t wait to go again. Weather wise Liberec has 4 true seasons. The summers are sunny but the winter is cold with deep snow. Enjoy your trip. Hope this helps a little.

The city is nice and interesting, but do something with the public transport schedule!!!
Google doesn't have any schedule!!!
It's not good in XXI century, that transport companies of Liberec don't want to give that information

Liberec is a beautiful and calm city.
Liberec is a beautiful and calm city. Actually it was a golden mean between a bigger city and a smaller town, because there are plenty of activities available like zoo, IQ park, Babylon aquaplace or regional gallery, but still, not so many people walking around.

Great to wander around the old town - and the trip to the top of the mountain by cable car is wonderful and it's definitely worth the treat to eat in the restaurant at the top, the decor is a must
When you check in after 2pm, you are greeted with tapas at the reception and coupons for welcome drinks. Breakfast is great as it has a big selection of food which is even prepared right next to you. Employees were very helpful, attentive and hard-working. If you're into it, there's a free pool table as well. The rooms have everything you might need.
Hotel is located literally 5 mins walk from train/bus station and the city center/shopping malls. There is a nearby tram/bus stop if you want to go to Ještěd or the zoo.
I would rather go to Jested in summer. We had no views at all, just white milk behind the windows, and it was cool, but because of stormy weather with very strong winds and snow we also couldn't go anywhere. We liked the rooms, the feel of it, and didn't mind bathroom across the hall, it was very close, clean, no problem. We watched TV and played cards on the comfortable table and chairs. Dinner was expensive but very tasty and served nicely, breakfast was great. Parking for guests in front of the hotel is free.
Located in the centre of Liberec, only short walk to restaurants and shops.
About 20min walk to the train and bus station.
First impression was absolutely amazing. Very nicely decorated, cleverly spaced and a lot fitted in. Big bed, jacuzzi, bathroom, sauna, kitchen and a balcony.
The absolute highlight was the sauna. We love sauning and after 9 days of hiking that's what our muscles needed. It heated quickly, is very spacious, and to be fair didn't add that much heat to room even it was hot outside.
Classic art deco style hotel with lots of original details including an old elevator (there is a new, bigger elevator as well). Fantastic location smack in the middle of Liberec old town by the main square overlooking the court-house. Very affordable secure parking to the back of the hotel. They have started renovating the rooms and the triple room was brand new incl a balcony, very comfortable beds and nice bathroom.
Short, but great stay after very long travel. Very kind and helpful Katherina in reception introduced me in this very good hotel withe wonderful room, cold, tasty beer, delicious, rich breakfast. Very strong side of the hotel is also location - in the city centre, near bus and railway station.
Mrs Houšková was very helpful and took a great care of us. Her cooking is great and the breakfast was more than we expected. Strongly recommended. We wrote about it in our blog https://bikingadventureswithmichalandpolly.com/2023/07/17/jested-and-krystofovo-udoli/
The hotel is located in a quiet residential part of the city. If you take the room with the terasse, you will have a view into a green hill/park with the trees.
The terasse was pretty spacious, in my case approx the same size like my room.
Pytloun Design Hotel was under construction so we were replaced to Pytloun Boutique Hotel. Hotel is nice, quite, placed in city center. Staff is nice and breakfast tasty. Bed was comfortable so we had pretty nice stay.
Very good location, near the centre but on a quiet street. The hotel was cozy, breakfast was good. Will definitely stay there again if I should need to stay in Liberec. Bed was super comfortable.
Because we had a booking glitch the manager here very generously upgraded us to the Grand Imperial Pytloun downtown as we came in late in the evening so this rating is based on this hotel
Good food in the restaurant. The rooms have very interesting designs, the overall look of the hotel is fresh, modern. Very friendly staff, they go the extra mile to help you out.
Location is in the very center of the city, everything is within reach. Staff is friendly. The hotel is going through a renovation, some rooms are new, some still retro.
I liked the night silence and seclusion of the hotel, far from the city center and close to the hills. Some men were drunk but they were not agressive.
