Breakfast was really good and very nicely presented. I also liked the wood fire in the room and the help I was given to keep it going in the evening. The staff were very friendly and attentive and helped me with arranging a taxi to a different view point.
Comfortable rooms with wood mountain views are offered in El Quilotoa, only 150 metres from Quilotoa bus station. Breakfast is included on the rates and guests are welcomed with complimentary tea.

The hostel is a bit outside quilotoa but only a 7 min walk. They give you a lot of blankets and a heater which you need as it's cold! However, one of the best nights of sleep ever! The guy who worked there was really nice and very polite and made us simple but tasty meals!

The staff is really friendly: they do remind me on a couple of grandparents who want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. After traveling 3 weeks through Ecuador this place has by far the nicest rooms we have seen. They are spacious, new and very nice decorated providing all facilities you need.
The owner of the hotel provided dinner in the evening which was really good at a very fair price. Communication was a bit hard because they don't speak English very well, but the owners are very open and willing to help.
With mountain views, Hostal el Vaquero is set in Chugchilán and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and children's playground.

One of the best place I ever stayed. Excellent meals with enough food (and I eat a lot). The free banana bread and cookies are really a plus, and so delicious. The lunch box is also really nice. The son even drove me for free to the doctor, because I was bitten by a dog during my walk. The common area is tiny but so comfortable.
This is a must see beautiful place. The drive to Quiatola has some of the most spectacular views in Ecuador. The views at Quiatola are breathtaking. Be prepared to pay a nominal per person fee to get into the park at Quiatola.

The Princessa Tia Hotel is the place to stay in Quilatoa,...
The Princessa Tia Hotel is the place to stay in Quilatoa, best location, great breakfast, large room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable bed. But the best feature is the rooms all have an electric heater. Quilatoa is cold, so the benefit of the heater, which is rare to find anywhere in Ecuador, is amazing!
The rim hike is beautiful but steep and slippery in places. Poles would be a good idea. The hike down to the lake is surprisingly long, steep and slippery. There are horses or mules that can take you back up for $10 pp. Get out early as the fog moves in around 4pm and obscures visibility of the lake. The sun in the morning makes the water’s colors amazing. You can take a kayak out or go for a motorized ride in a zodiac.
The town is tiny and closes up early so don’t delay going to dinner. There are no pharmacies or banks and only 1 ATM which wouldn’t work with our card. Also, be careful because there are no gas stations for the entire Quilatoa Loop. Fill up before heading up either route to Quilatoa.

We were in Quitoloa during the low season. Not too crowded :)
Accommodations at Cuchirawa Hostel were directly across from the crater. Ample free parking; we walked everywhere. Enjoyed a post-hike beer at a restaurant on the crater ridge.

The Quilotoa Loop was absolutely worth every step!
The Quilotoa Loop was absolutely worth every step! For sure start from Sigchos so you can have the lagoon as a reward after 3 days of difficult hiking. The hikes were beautiful (although rather steep) and a fantastic way to reach Quilotoa.

The views were breathtaking and amazing; there was a 6hr hike around the rim with a few areas the path made you doubt what you were doing but overall it was worth it; the hike down to the water takes about 30-40 minutes and 1-1.5hrs to hike out - I am not an avid hiker and it took me 2hrs to climb back up. The trail is slippery and hiking poles were beneficial. I'd love to go back and do the 4 days hike around.

Trekked the Quilotoa loop. It was amazing!
Trekked the Quilotoa loop. It was amazing! the views are fantastic and it is a medium difficulty hike. The only problem was coming down the highest point. It is incredibly slippery and there is nothing to hang on to. The ground is loose dirt so one has to be VERY careful.
Martita’s is a very cute hotel with a lot of charm. It was clean and cozy and is in a great location - only a few minutes walk away from the bus stop, restaurants, artesanal shops and hiking trails. The breakfast (included in the price) was great: eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt and coffee/tea/water. The dinner was also tasty, filling and reasonably priced. Our room had a space heater, but it can still be quite chilly inside so bring warm clothes!
The staff was great - very friendly and provided helpful information. The shower had hot water, and the wood stove heated the room nicely. Dinner and breakfast were both solid with plentiful tasty food. It’s not a luxury hotel, but extremely charming and well-maintained. Excellent value for money. It is also well-situated between the town and crater access and the bus stop right outside of town.
A very nice guesthouse with nice staff. Clean, nice rooms, wifi. Close to the town gate and to the lake. It is now $2 per person to enter Quilotoa town.
Dinner is at 7.
The buses leave Quilotoa every hour, but there is a lot of unpredictable waiting for passengers so it took my bus over 2.5 hours though it was a 1.5 hour drive.
Buses from latacunga to Quilotoa leave at 8,10 and noon.
Location was great, although farther from the crater from other hostels (though only just a few minutes walk through town).
Staff were nice and they held our bags for free while we hiked.
Good hot shower
They made us a fire which was great because it was otherwise really cold (the norm for the region it seems)
Breakfast was decent, but a little small - eggs, bread, and fruits.
The hosts, Doña Ester y Don Gonzalo, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. They prepared a firewood for us and we had a delicious supper in their company, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Hostal Rosita is on the track linking Quilotoa to Chugchilan, about 500 meters from the village of Guyama San Pedro.
Nice hostel, very close to Laguna Quilotoa. As we made a last minute reservation we had to wait a little bit for somebody to open. Breakfast and dinner were good, but not as good as in the other hostels on the Quilotoa loop hike the family was super nice and we even got a little gift when leaving. Also it was very clean.
The location is central and right in front of quilotoa Lake. The food was delicious, and the prices were remarkably reasonable. Many guides and day visitors visited the place. There is a little market in the lobby with souvenirs etc., that is very convenient. At night the fire in the room is started by the hotel staff.
The hotel is located right across from one of the best views of Quilotoa crater lake. It was very convenient to access the hiking trails. The shower was great; hot with good water pressure. The staff tried hard to be helpful; it is obviously a local family run business.
Friendly staff and a super cute hostel, which is actually more like a hotel.
Everything looked nice and new. The shower was hot, the bed was comfy, and dinner and breakfast were tasty. There was even an electical heater and a fireplace in our room!
The room was so warm and cozy. Between the wood burning stove and the many blankets, we stayed warm all night. Breakfast and dinner were good. wifi was strong. The owners were so kind and attentive. We definitely recommend this hostel!
Breakfast is really great, perfect to fuel up before going for a hike in Quilotoa.
Beds are super comfortable and warm (it gets freezing cold in the room).
Owners are nice.
Additional heating available, since temperatures can fall below zero during night. Perfect breakfast and dinner. Super location at the beginning of Quilotoa village.
