Exactly what you want from a historical boutique hotel in a small city. Lots of charm and character, friendly and helpful staff. Our room was very quiet and big and included some comfortable seating. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.

Tartu is the second biggest city in Estonia, it has lots of places to visit, like museums, science centre, shopping centres, theatre, there are lots of walking to do, there are great local transport links in Tartu, there are plenty of hotels,B&Bs, plus apartments to stay in, most of the big shopping centres are in the city centre, there is also a free bus that takes you to one of the biggest shopping centres in Estonia, just on the outside of Tartu, that shopping centre is very big, and takes about two hours to walk round, it has a lot of different store, restaurants, etc there.
The local buses are also great to use,buy a tartu bus card, tap and go, or, buy tickets at Tartu bus Station, there are local buses, and city buses, there are lots of them, make sure to get a map, as it is a little difficult to know where to go/get off, if you do not know the area.
By the river, across the foot bridge from the city centre behind the market, you will find a nice beach area for summer, it is lovely there, and sandy, plus changing areas for everyone.

Fell in love with Tartu!
Fell in love with Tartu! An absolutely amazing city with a wide range of museums and activities, cosy and variable dining places, perfect for strolling and cycling around... So much to discover! I will surely return!
Try out the city museums, observation tower, printing history museums, science center, spa center, public transportation is easy to use and takes you all around town with an ease. Yet, one can also rent city bikes to move around 😀

Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at.
Tartu is a beautiful student city to stay at. With the river running right through it it has everything you can wish for. It is busy enough to get whatever you want, but also to feel almost alone enjoying the lights around the river lights during the evening.
Also a lot of nature in a short drive away.
bare bones efficiency apartments which I personally quite like: independent living on my own terms. Not dependent on any hotel restaurant etc. However no frills either. no gym, free breakfast or anything like that. We had all that we needed on hand except for the cookware but generally this is a great little home base for sightseeing. walking distance to the train from Tallinn and from the sights in Tartu
Excellent service and breakfast! Front desk was really polite and helpful, nice and smiley guys :) Breakfast was diverse and tasty. Although we travelled without kids, they would have loved pancakes and ice cream for beakfast (definitely considering to choose same hotel when travelling with kids). Room was spacious and beds comfy. Hotel is not very modern, but all in all very good value for money.
Location was wonderful, the only down side was the lack of a shop nearby (there was one with products all behind the counter, which was not very encouraging for non-Estonian speakers, so we skipped it), but cafes were close enough, so it was not bad at all.
The studio type room was spacious, the kitchen was well eqipped & the bed was made for us upon arrival.
Our very good estonian friend lives just some hundred meters from Villa Veering, so we had both supper and on 24th the breakfast in his house, so we need no breakfast from the hotel! This was our second visit in Villa Veering! We spent there also a night few years ago! And we were now as satisfied with other as during the first visit!
Extremely good location in center, with private parking lot. Reasonably comfortable rooms. Have recently introduced contact-free check-in and check-out, with phone app for the room key, which is innovative for Estonia and rather comfortable to use. There is still friendly staff available at reception, you can contact in case of need.
Hotel met booking request of room facing garden and kettle/cups.Quiet room, good bed and wifi+,heated bathroom floor.Breakfast buffet was very good.Staff at reception and at breakfast were very nice and helpful. Central location for both Estonian national museum (bus 50 meters away) and Old town/Toome hill. Strongly recommend
Very clean and comfortable studio with all the needed facilities. A very friendly owner living next door. The studio is in one of those typical Estonian wooden houses so it was a nice opportunity to be in. The location is near to the historical centre as well as a commercial centre with a big grocery shop.
Very clean room. The hostel is located directly in front of the main bus station of Tartu. The breakfast is very good. Friendly and helpful staff., 24 h reception, easy check in and check out. Guests of the hostel share the same breakfast and sauna as guests of the hotel (in the same building)
Everything was perfect! Deserves the highest rating. Host was friendly and shared great recommendations for exploring the wonderful city of Tartu! The apartment has everything you would want for your vacation. Tastefully decorated.
Perfect location, just next to the bus terminal,Attentive staff, spacious rooms with river view .I had very nice stay.Tartu itself is very beautiful city,Dorpat Hotel would be your best choice.I definitely recommend it!
Our stay was very short, just 1 night. But the hotel provided exactly what it promised: clean and large comfortable room, good breakfast. Location is near the center, so all as expected.
Finally a place where the the floor of the bathroom/toilet room does not get flooded with water once someone takes a shower! Such a common problem in Estonian accommodations.
V Spa Hotel is in the heart of Tartu and it has all possibilities for lovely citytrip - nice cosy rooms, great spa with saunas and a Michelin stars restaurant 🙂. Recommend!
