If you love quality rustic then this is the hotel for you, its a super hotel in the best location. Whilst the hotel has parking its going to test your skills, if you cant get in the allocated space, park in one you can and inform reception, alternatively you could drop off your bags and park below the city walls, just a short walk back. Breakfast in the main restaurant is as good as it gets with just one negative mentioned below.

Nice solid hotel to stay for a night or two and visit Avila, friendly staff, and I have nothing to complain. Visitors can park their cars nearby for free or for an additional fee in the hotel garage. A few steps away from the famous Cuatro Postes viewpoint. Not really far from the city walls if you like to walk.

This quiet hotel is only 5 minutes from historic downtown Avila. The staff were welcoming and the rooms very clean. The hotel restaurant gets lively at night. Food was good and coffee great. Indoor parking was very appreciated. The day we arrived we were entertained by a local tradition / spontaneous calle pasada (?) (group of young people pub crawling with marching band instruments). Great energy!

My son and I had to leave earlier than breakfast would be served in the morning, and the hotel staff was happy to give us bags or boxes to bring up to our room so we could eat before checking out. Additionally, the staff recommended a good restaurant for our dinner the previous evening.

When viewed against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, Ávila is truly a spectacular sight. Its fully intact walls rise majestically from a hill, and the many semi-circular towers and 9 gates give it added character. Begun in the 11th century, these incredible fortifications are the symbol of this UNESCO World Heritage-listed city.
Partly built into the walls are the rather fortress-like cathedral and the Convent of Saint Teresa, erected in honour of the saint whose childhood was spent in a house on the same spot. Her relics are here, making it a popular pilgrimage spot. The city’s biggest festival is also in her honour and includes a colourful parade, fireworks and fights in the bullring.
Teresa entered the Incarnation Convent in Ávila, but found herself at odds with the practices, so founded a new monastery: the Convent of Saint Joseph. Of the city’s other religious structures, the Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas is particularly of note as it contains the tomb of Don Juan, son of King Fernando.
Other Ávila sights include the Torreón de los Guzmanes - a tower attached to the provincial council headquarters – and the Four Columns monument which offers fabulous city views.
The Ávila accommodation on Booking.com includes boutique hotels, traditional guest houses and cheap apartments near the train station.

Spent three nights at Le Vintage over Palm Sunday weekend and was glad I did. Avila is an historic, walled town and best not rushed through on a day trip from Madrid. Le Vintage was the PERFECT location with my room facing the street so I got to see all of the action/processions on the Saturday before Palm Sunday and then again on Holy Monday.

Impressive walls are surrounding the city and invite for a nice walk.
April seems the right moment to visit it. In summertime it may get very hot. The Sofraga Palacio Hotel is the best option to stay we think.

Avila is quite nice for sightseeing.
Avila is quite nice for sightseeing. My problem is with the food industry. We are vegan and the options for us to eat were poor at best. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food represented as vegan to us was very poor quality, even at nicer restauraunts.

There is almost 2 miles of beautiful ancient city walls holding many interesting old residential structures accessible by small hilly alleys. As the streets are hilly so tourists need to have some comfortable walking shoes to explore the surrounding.

Just a nice beautiful walled medieval town with great charm good food /tapa and we found a couple of nice bars and restaurants .Everything within walking distance. Not crowded and staff where ever we went were great.

Very nice place with a beautiful view of Avila. About a 15-minute walk away from the town walls. Nice restaurant and cafe with reasonable prices. The room was very comfortable and warm. No noise. Comfortable beds and large bathroom.
There is a lift for the upper floors. You can park outside the hotel for free.
We had a wonderful couple of days in Avila. Definitely worth the visit. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were very helpful. The highlight was definitely watching Saint Teresa being taken for her yearly journey to the Cathedral from the luxury of our hotel window.
Hotel about 5-10 mins drive out of Avila centre but easy. Parking free in outside area. Staff very helpful. Large facility so gets large groups through. We had a loft style room on second floor, very clean but could do with a bit more light, maybe another floor lamp as very dark.
An excellent small hotel in an incredible location in the centre of Avila
Would advise parking in the main car parks outside of the City Walls and walking in.
Friendly service
An excellent breakfast
Large rooms with original historic features
A perfect stay
A gem in the middle of Avila. Everyone at the Hotel should be very proud, their institution is a true reflection of the people working there. Warm, friendly, nothing is an issue and they always give you a smile. The facilities are outstanding.
Great hotel in centre of town adjacent to the city walls. Opted for half board and top quality evening meal with local specialties of Iberian beef and suckling pig on the menu when we were there. Good base for exploring Avila.
The location in Avila us fantastic but the location in Avila us also a very big problem with parking. Some of the staff like the reception staff was great, the restaurant staff was not so great.
Loved the fact that we were guests in a 15th century palacio. Loved the walled city of Avila and our stay in the Palacio. Still thinking about our stay and wishing a quick return
The location was great and the hotel was historic and authentic. The dining area was a former patio so they were rooms that looked down on it. Very quaint, very nice.
We have stayed here many times on our way through Spain and love the space, peace and tranquility here - as well as being welcomed like old friends by the ‘boss’!
