Getting the key code through a text was a little confusing for me, as it was sent to my booking.com account and I hadn't checked this account and would prefer if it was sent to my personal email, which booking.com has. Anyway, my fault 100% - and certainly not the host, who was very helpful, when I called her.
This town was such a nice surprise. I decided to divide my camino stage and Porriño was great to visit. There are plenty of nice restaurants and cafés. It's a beautiful town architecturally, so I enjoyed walking around the town. It's also not a touristy town or a place overrun with other Caminho pilgrims (like me), so I was able to experience the town without a lot of outside influence. On a personal choice note, I actually enjoyed Porriño more than Valença and Tui. I spent a night in each of those locations on my Camino. The other two towns were much more focused on the tourist/pilgrim guests. While I enjoyed Valença because of its history and architecture, the town was more touristy than I would have liked. Porriño has all the charm of a small town, without the interference of outside . A final note about Porriño. The people that you interact with, restaurant, hotel staff or just people you meet on the street were always pleasant to interact with. They were always patient with my limited language skills and made me feel welcome in their town. Visit Porriño!
Nuria was very welcoming and helpful, the hostel was well thought through with everything I needed (hairdryer, plenty of towels, extra blanket, locker with key) and in a convenient central location. In the end I was the only guest for the night I stayed during my Camino (outside of peak season) and Nuria went out of her way to ensure I felt safe and comfortable which I really appreciated, a great option if you're staying in Porrino.
The best place to stay in O Porriño for sure with the best host we've ever had - he gave us incredible recommendations for the entire Camino and immediately replied to every request. We were hugely impressed. The apartment is huge and in a superb location with everything you could need and even a welcome basket of goodies - such a treat to stay there after a long day on the Camino.
We were doing the Camino de Santiago, it was our first stop here in O Porrino. The location is perfect and close the restaurants. The staff were very friendly. The facilities were clean and the bed was comfortable, they also provided us with blankets and towels. I highly recommend it especially if you’re doing the Camino :)
The owner was wonderful. He picked us up and brought us to the hotel. He also drove my husband to find his glasses that he lost on the Camino. He recommended a wonderful place to have drinks and food that was very reasonably priced. He also drove us to the city to start the hike in the morning. Great host!!
Wonderful location
The restaurant under the hotel is great.
There is no elevator and carrying a suitcase up is difficult.
There is no large mirror, there is a kitchenette
I don't understand the long pillows, very uncomfortable
Clean and the location is wonderful
Great location within Porrino. Lots of restaurants around the hostel. Jesus was very accommodating to our late check-in. He had a map to show where grocery stores were and other landmarks in the city. Breakfast was included. Really enjoyed our stay.
One of the best apartments in Porriño, perfect if you are doing the Camino. We were welcomed by a really nice couple, who left a box with items for breakfast, that was really nice.
The apartment has a balcony and even has a washing/dryer machine.
Washer AND dryer. Yeah. chocolates on the pillows when we arrived. cold bottle of water in fridge. Good water pressure for shower. close to Hotel Duarte and restaurants. Complimentary coffee and tea. Comfortable bed.
very nice place. clean spacious. very friendly bookin and extremely helpful and polite owner. Would definitely stay there again if we get back to OPorrino. Facilities excellent clean and comfortable.
Manuel is a super nice host, he picked us up for free from o porriño and even drove us back in the next morning, nice view from the terrace, a tapas bar and a supermarket around the corner
We like all !! This is amazing place to stay. Beautiful and modern. The apartment is strategically located at the downtown of Porriño at steps of restaurants and historical places.
Very friendly people, good meal for good price, incl water & wine.
Friendly son of owner, who speeks English.
Excellent breakfast.
Free transit to o Porriño.
Place we stayed in Porrino during the Camino. The room had 3 bunk beds with curtains and a bathroom. The breakfast was nice. They accepted our Camino bags.
