The location was very central with easy access to a lovely gazebo overlooking the Roman bridges over the river. We went to do stargazing and since it was a rural town near the gazebo was a very nice area to stargaze being not overwhelmed by city lighting. The whole town is very quiet and peaceful.

I booked the hotel with trepidation at short notice and the wife was even more so. We could not have been more wrong. The room was spotless and well fitted. The evening meal was one of the best that I have had for a long time and so was the wine which was free. The staff were very good helping a non Spanish speaker through the menu. The hotel is in a small village with a beautiful church at its centre just a few miles outside Salamanca. There are only a few rooms and the place is run by Martin and his partner who also
man the kitchen to make your dinner. Martin is a lovely man who now’s how to welcome and look after people as well as cook for them. We had a wonderful meal of a light soup and roasted beef rib and pork with excellent olive oil and wine from the village. Our dogs were welcome and Martin was delighted to see them.
