It's in a quiet, rural location, but also easy to get to from Caen. A very welcoming host, the estate is tastefully and lovingly restored, and it has a fascinating history. We very much enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the sauna. We had a delicious breakfast at the property but no other meal as we opted for an early night after travelling since 5am, but our host was able to recommend nearby restaurants had we wanted to go out.

There was little to like. It was difficult to find.

There was little to like. It was difficult to find. No indication of where the car park or reception was. The"car park" was a tiny space with a bit of gravel thrown down. There was very little room.to manoeuvres and there weren't enough spaces. It seemed to take forever to find any staff to help us. Eventually a man who looked to be the gardener found someone to help us. He told us off for missing the car park. There were no special spaces for disabled drivers

    Building, owners, garden... are amazing.

Building, owners, garden... are amazing. Its an ancient building, nice rooms, not luxury, you don't need that, the global place is really very nice.0 Notice that breakfast (really good) is a bit late for France (9:30), but we didn't mind at all, and owners were very nice. Nights very pacefull, no sound at all, even impressive if you come from a big city....

The host gave an accomplished guided tour of the chateau with its history. For those keen on French history this is the place to visit. There is a very large and beautiful moggy patrolling the place - no doubt on the look out for English Kerniggets to taunt a second time!

Everything was superb from the start to the finish.

Everything was superb from the start to the finish. We are only sorry we didn't get to try the pool. It is close to Falaise and is easy to access the A88 or N158 depending which way you are travelling.
