Very good hotel. Stayed 3 nights whilst on a self guided battlefield tour. Check in very easy. I like to speak French when visiting France but the staff here speak English so no problems if you get stuck with French. I was first floor at the rear of the hotel in a nice big room with tv, comfortable bed and en suite with good shower. The room was quiet apart from the usual noisy guest that finds it necessary to slam doors and stamp about, obviously this issue beyond the hotels control. Good size free car park. Very good restaurant and reasonably priced. Good continental breakfast but also had boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and bacon, plenty of choice. The reception has some armchairs to sit with a drink from the bar and a pool table, also some tables and chairs outside. It’s about 30 minutes to walk into Albert where there are numerous restaurants but most don’t open until 6pm so best to check timings. Good bakery 5 minute walk away next to a McDonalds if that suits you. I’d return here to stay.
This hotel is located opposite the Basilica in Albert city centre, a 25-minute drive from Amiens. It offers rooms with flat-screen TVs and free internet access.

Loved the house & Muriel was a great host. Breakfast was really good & very enjoyable. Its a shame the weather was poor as the exterior looked very nice if we had been able to enjoy it. Our bathroom was fabulous & the decor was lovely.

I really enjoyed my stay here…it provided me with everything Ii needed…a quaint, private, quiet little farmhouse, kept in the period decor…perfect for my western front visits…reminded me of the 70s…it may not be fancy to some people’s standards, but I couldn’t have been happier…it was exactly what I wanted…

This is actually an entire small home, so there is plenty of room. It is clean and neat and warm. It has a fairly large, charming back yard.
The owners were also charming and as obliging as possible to welcome us.
It was a very comfortable stay.
What was even better was, the next morning, seeing the WW1 collection they have personally accumulated over some decades. All sorts of WW1 paraphernalia is there and they really know their history. We spent about an hour there, looking at the collection and discussing WW1.
This was one of the best stays we have had so far.

The owners are extremely friendly, hospitable & Caterine is a fabulous cook. The breakfast was always fresh with homemade cakes. It was delightful listening to the cuckoo & watching the blue tits flying around outside the bedroom window.
The nearby town Albert had some nice restaurants that were very reasonable.
Our trip was to visit Bullecourt & other WW1 memorial sites.

The location and accommodation is in the heart of the Somme battlefields and all the main sites whilst still being very rural. And peaceful. It’s hard to imagine that such a beautiful place saw such tragedy. Don’t look for shops, pubs or restaurants in abundance - enjoy the peace and look further afield for other entertainment as it is there. I’d return, happily.

Visiting this chateau was like going back in time and our hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming. The spacious rooms are simple but elegantly decorated and the grounds feel like a private estate. Breakfast was delicious and Catherine recommend an excellent restaurant nearby for dinner. It is an excellent base for visiting the Somme and I look forward to going back one day.

Ideal location for visiting a war cemetery at Colinchamps.
Ideal location for visiting a war cemetery at Colinchamps. There was very little traffic so it made it easy to get around with the car. The area is full of history relating to WW1 The town of Albert was only 10 minutes by car and in the town there is a museum on the Somme and a beautiful Basilica Church
