The room was large and comfortable with a great view of the Cathedral, but there was no shower stall, rather a bathtub with an uncomfortable hand held shower. The very useful free city shuttle (navette) has a stop right next to the hotel.
Set in the heart of Metz, La Citadelle Metz MGallery offers large and luxury rooms and suites with a flat-screen TV, individual air-conditioning and free WiFi internet access.

A Fascinating Voyage through Art, History and Culture
Located near the borders of France, Germany and Luxemburg, the French city of Metz is the capital of the Lorraine region in the Moselle department. This destination has stunning architecture, as well as rich history and culture.
The Saint Étienne Cathedral is a massive Gothic structure, built of yellow limestone. This masterpiece along with the Defensive City Gates, are some of the most important landmarks in Metz.
You can wander around the picturesque streets, admire the buildings made of Jaumont stone and discover a mix of Italian, French and German architecture. The modern Centre Pompidou-Metz is home to great pieces of modern art by world-renown artists like Joan Miró, Henri Matisse and Picasso.
Set on the banks of the Moselle and Seille rivers, the city of Metz is reachable by train from Paris, Lyon, Nice, Marseille and Strasbourg. The monumental railway station of Gare de Metz-Ville is a Romanesque building with a magnificent clock tower and a stained-glass window.
The Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport is about 16 km away from the city centre and has flights to Toulouse, Cologne and Brussels. Booking.com offers a variety of hotels and apartments in Metz to choose from.
The stained glass windows of the cathedral are wonderful,...
The stained glass windows of the cathedral are wonderful, and so is the old city. Metz is a pleasant city, go for the flowery ice creams, they are beautiful and delicious. The free bus to centre Pompidou is a surprise.
La cour d'or is worth visiting.
I will strongly dissuaes you from booking an appartment from the organisation Rock &Share, they make promises they do not keep.

Beautiful city to walk around in.
Beautiful city to walk around in. Extraordinary cathedral if you are into architecture; Centre Pompidou-Metz is also superb from the perspective of architecture. Also: very extensive archaeology museum if you are into that. And there are great restaurants. Not too touristy (too far for day trips from Paris, in contrast to Reims). I did have a problem with the housing; best to avoid "rock-in-share" listings (I was charged for two nights, and also charged a "cleaning" fee, but was never able to pick up the key or enter the place).

Metz is an interesting city.
Metz is an interesting city. We hope to spend more time there, walking by the rivers and canals. Metz can't be blamed for bad weather. We just chose the wrong time of year for our trip. We now have maps and a guide to the city and hope to return. Due to the winding streets it can be difficult to find oone's way around but that can lead to interesting discoveries.

There was so much to see and do and we could have easily spent 3 days exploring the city but instead had only a day and a half.
The electric buses in the centre (which look like trams) are free and easy to use.
Everything in the centre is within walking distance.
It also has a two Indoor shopping centre - the Muse just outside of the centre is by far the nicer of the two.
The train station is absolutely stunning and was built for Kaiser Wilhelm 2 and is he had apartments there.
The people are friendly, food is reasonably priced and the sights are stunning.
The double bed for two people was large and comfortable. I appreciated that the room and kitchen were cleaned daily. The TV in the room was large and had a very good selection of channels including Netflix and YouTube.
The most appreciated thing for train travelers, as we were this time, was the positioning of the hotel right across the road from the majestic "Gare de Metz ville", without this leading to sound discomfort.
Dealing with the front desk staff was extremely pleasant and the breakfast was wonderful!
The hotel has a perfect location in Metz centre. They offer some nice activitie such as outdoor pool, small gym and table soccer. Nice restaurant and beautiful bar with a huge variety. The rooms are large and comfortable. The total impression from outside (view on building) is somewhat old. But inside this hotel is really nice and comfortable. I stayed here already 5 times and will always come back if do business or a private stayover in Metz. Absolutely recommended!
The welcome was excellent. It was a hot day and we were greeted with chilled water and friendly staff. We dined in the restaurant one night and rate our meal as one of the best we have had during this trip to France. The room and bathroom were a good size and well equipped. The hotel is located within a short walk to the major points of interests.
A nice modern hotel located in the centre of Metz. Good facilities and a nice breakfast and I would stay here again if returning to the town. We reserved a parking space in the underground car park which is worth doing if arriving by car.
The parking charge is reasonable and at least you know that your car is safe.
Super hotel. The conversion of the the building to this hotel has been undertaken very well and in total sympathy with its surroundings. We thought it had just opened, but it had been converted for 7 years. Staff were very friendly, room was very comfortable. Location was good, just a 10 min walk into the centre.
Wonderful accommodation in the heart of Metz. The classical North African theme captures the imagination and adds to the experience. Our family of five was very comfortable here. Parking and check-in information was detailed and the owner was very responsive to our questions.
Location was fantastic, very quiet and just 15 minute walk to the centre of Metz along the canal bank and through a lovely park.
Excellent and very generous breakfast of croissant, bread, jams, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee.
The host was friendly and very attentive.
Deceptively nice hotel very near the town centre with free parking underground. Quirky hotel inside but really nice and by the river. Metz was entertaining with plenty of choice for bars and restaurants, boats were available for hire but it was too hot really.
The hotel is just across the train station and easy access to downtown Metz by bus or walk. The bed is comfortable, the room has good view. The staff is helpful. You can store your luggage before or after stay, in locked closet. All together it is good value.
Be aware that Ubers and taxis to this hotel from Metz or GT area are a minimum 20E. We knew it was out of the city center but didn’t realize how expensive transportation would be. Best if you have a car. The front desk staff are very friendly.
Everythiing was great. The owners are realy nice and friendly. The hotel is in pedestrian zone, with public garage nearby.
Wifi connection is great. Highly recommend.
If I ever come back to Metz, I'll make sure to stay there.
The location for the Christmas market was perfect, you are right in the heart of everything. The furthest market was only 5 minutes walk away. However the hotel was peaceful quiet for a city centre hotel.
The location is the best to visit Metz city center.
Our room was very clean and there was a coffee machine and water in the fridge.
You can get discount for a parking that is very close to the hotel.
Location is fantastic for walking into the centre of Metz which is well worth a visit. Secure parking for my motorcycle for €10 meant I could relax knowing it would still be there in the morning.
Nice clean and spacious room
Friendly service and a short drive from Metz city centre
Secured car park with plenty of parking spaces
Very good value for money...
The location is the only positive thing I can think of because the hotel is located at walking distance (approximately 30 minutes) from the city centre.
