Beautiful town with plenty of great restaurants to try!
Beautiful town with plenty of great restaurants to try! We stayed for 6 nights and it was a brilliant base for exploring other towns in the area. There is not a huge amount of shopping in Vitre if this is what you are after but some lovely bars to visit in the evening! We spent one day exploring Vitre itself and this was plenty. Very pretty town with lots of interesting buildings: many timber-framed and some with arcades. Ramparts. Impressive chateau and museum. Good restaurants - try "Pieds Sous la Table" for a very good, very reasobaly priced menu.

Rooms were a good size and included a 50inch tv and usb points etc. The bathroom was large and nicely specced too. There was a pool and spa, which we didn't use.. having to wear a swim cap even in the sauna was bizarre for a four star hotel! Staff were friendly, the guy that checked us in spoke excellent English although we didn't expect him to.

Everything in this lovely historical town was within easy strolling distance. The apartment was modern, light and airy and well laid out. Everything was clean and worked.
