The staff at Bertie were amazing, helpful and so friendly as were the other guests and patrons. On the day we arrived, there had been thunderstorms which unfortunately caused a leak in the kitchen so we were not able to get food from the kitchen so we ordered a takeaway for dinner and were allowed to eat in the bar rather than having to take it to the room and they provided plates and cutlery for us which was great due to having a 4 year old. The location was lovely with a river running right next to it and a Morrisons daily a 2 minute walk. The karaoke at night was really fun and even our 4 year old was allowed to sing and she loved it. Had a pool table and dart board which we had a games of both too.

We were traveling on May 5th for an event in Cardiff and the hotel was ideally situated for either driving in or ordering an Uber. Best of all, the room prices hadn't been inflated because of the event. The staff were very helpful and friendly and Check in was a breeze. The three rooms were perfect for our requirements and well presented. Unfortunately we didn't have chance to sample the food as we were leaving on the morning of the 6th which was bank holiday Monday. I'm not sure whether the restaurant wasn't open for breakfast because of the bank holiday or whether it doesn't open on Mondays. I would definitely recommend the Wingfield Hotel as a nice stopover for anyone visiting the area.
