The Lion Hotel, hotel in Alderwasley

Situated in the historic town of Belper, The Lion Hotel features a modern bar area set within an 18th century building.

Continental suits me and reasonable selection. The location was v handy for the railway station which was why I booked it. Next to a petrol station and on the high street it could have been v noisy on a busier night but okay for me. Customers might want to check if there are special activities on during their intended stay

Like the fact that we can bring our dog with us. We like the courtyard rooms. Breakfast is very nice. The rooms are large and clean. We like the tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Also the shower gel and shampoo in each bathroom. The beds are very comfortable.

    Perfect self catering accommodation.

Perfect self catering accommodation. Everything we needed and more! Not your basic self catering accommodation. There was care of detail with nice home from home comforts such as plush cushions cozy wool throws and pleasant decor. Everything seemed to have been thought of to make the stay comfortable. We had a very rainy weekend so relied on the accommodations comfort and facilities as we were inside for a lot of the weekend. It didn’t disappoint! Plus a lovely country pub with delicious menu and friendly welcoming ambience just a few steps away. Staff were attentive and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. All in the beautiful surroundings of the Peak District and a short drive to the lovely town of Wirksworth, historic gem Cromford village and lively Matlock bath! Perfect ! We didn’t want to leave and will definitely come back to the Bear! Highly recommend
