Andover has pubs and bars, supermarkets and plenty of places to eat. There are enjoyable walks up to the Ladies Walk where you can see across the town and also to Charlton Lakes where there is a play area for kids.
Andover is also close to Basingstoke, Salisbury and Winchester.

It is a quiet town very convenient for visiting Winchester, Salisbury, the New Forest, Newbury, Whitchurch and Southampton. Anton Lakes local Natural Reserve gives a good opportunity to relax sitting on a bench and watching wildlife birds. Don't forget to visit the local Iron Age history museum and beautiful St.Mary's church.

A quiet town, without much to see.
A quiet town, without much to see. The Anton River canal near the old mill and the Anton lakes are the only places worth visiting, the river has ducks and swans as well. The town has supermarkets, and a train station and the distances are relatively easy to walk, even with luggage.

I nice chalk river runs through which has not been enhanced.
Such a shame.

We visited Andover as were were going to the BSB round at Thruxton. There are lots of place to eat in Andover we opted for an Indian called Chilies, it was empty so were a bit worried but it is one of the best curries we have had in a while. Staff very polite and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend it.
The hotel, Jack Russell Fox, which is a Wetherspoons pub chain was excellent. Staff and food were what you would expect. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate.
Overall an excellent room in a very good state of repair and decoration, it was spotlessly clean. It had a good drink making package together with biscuits. The WiFi was strong and we had no problems with the connection. The hotels carpack is at the back of the hotel and was secure and covered by cctv. This was our second visit and despite reduced facilities due to covid 19 we will certainly book here again when we return to Andover next year. An excellent hotel giving fantastic service and value for money.
The hotel was in a good location for shops and places to eat if you didn't want to eat there. The staff at check-in were friendly and helpful, as were those in the pub/restaurant. All the food I ate there was of a high standard and plentiful. The bed was one of the most comfortable I think I've ever slept in. It was well I stayed for 1 night or I wouldn't have left it on Sunday. All in all, I had a very nice stay and would do so again
It was a self check in and the property were very prompt to assist us with all the queries. The location is at the heart of Andover and there are many restaurants & bars around. With a large pedestrian shopping street. Paid parking is also nearby. We stayed here because of our trip to the Peppa Pig park , and we loved our stay. Would repeat without hesitation.
Really friendly and helpful staff. My stay was due to a funeral in Andover. The staff were very understanding and allowed me to check in early in order to change after my journey. They even asked how it went when I arrived back that evening. The girl behind the bar was just so nice.
Very clean and comfortable rooms. Very pleasant warm and friendly staff. Only downside is the noise from the town at night. Revelry carries in the night air.
I can’t praise the hotel enough. Lovely room in the stable block very well equipped.
Wonderful hotel complete with a great location. Room was very nice and cosy, the parking was a great addition too. Breakfast was well worth getting up for and the staff couldn't do enough for you. I look forward to staying here again.
I've stayed at the Hawk inn each Monday for the past 3 weeks and I intend to keep booking as I believe I have found a little gem. Stephan and staff are great and are always happy, I can not recommend this hotel enough.
Great location, really comfortable bed, lots of space, and the room was clean and airy with lots of character... so much nicer than staying in a hotel! A tasty breakfast with locally sourced products.
The breakfast was very good and of the same standard that is found in most hotels. The room was of adequate size and the bed was comfortable. the hotel was nicely located in the centre of Andover.
A nice hotel in pleasant quiet location, but handy for getting in to the town centre.
Room was nice, clean and comfortable.
If visiting Andover I would definitely stay there again.
What a great hotel, so much better than a hotel chain. Staff were lovely but especially young Cory who was very hard working and entertaining. Rooms were lovely, we will come back.
Hotel was perfect location and very clean rooms ideal size and again very clean staff very friendly and helpful and facilities excellent and value for money
Hotel had its own car park. Location was central to Andover. Staff were friendly. Double room was larger than typically found in a hotel and very clean.
Very charming historic building, with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, the hotel’s bar is quite cool too.
it is ideal . Big ,Clean , New rooms . it’s the most reasonable priced stay for miles . Don’t expect mega service but definitely good as any 4Star hotel
