Our room was on the ground floor, a huge bonus as I am unwell. The restaurant and bar areas are very light and airy, we didn't feel closed in, I had to spend the whole 3 days in the hotel with family coming to visit me, so this was important. Food was available all day. A great bonus, with different family visiting at different times, it was not possible to plan meal times. The parking was available to family visiting me which was great.

The staff are lovely and polite. Rooms are clean and bright. This is our 3rd visit and have always recommended your Afternoon Teas. The grounds are magnificent.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds in a very pretty valley with good walking nearby. We only stayed for one night but the room and food were first class and the staff very helpful.

Comfy beds was only plus, room cross between caller and prison cell Windows ceiling height Not as clean as it should have been , especially in today's Covid times, cobwebs are clue to room not being properly, breakfast tepid first morning, but much better second morning definitely, not as high end as advertised, parking poor,

I love Berkhamsted.
I love Berkhamsted. Went with my friends couple of years ago and we shopped, had lunch and went to the Rex cinema which is great. Went with my husband a couple of weeks ago and did shopping, dinner and Rex cinema. The hotel location is great. We managed to get in the hotel car park which is off the Waitrose car park. Not sure of the parking costs if hotel car park was full. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and some lovely shops, my favourite being The Forge Boutique. The place isn't massive but would recommend for a one night stay and trip to the Rex.

Lovely individual shops to browse, good choice of restaurants and eateries, in addition to the branch of Waitrose and M&s food hall. The town had a welcoming feel, and the appearance of some Christmas decorations although a little early did enhance the town. Lovely Saturday market too.

A compact town with many interesting and varied shops.
A compact town with many interesting and varied shops. There were also plenty of options for coffee or alcohol, which was also important! A walk along the canal is always amazing, with plenty of wildlife.

I came to visit family who live in Berkhamsted and wanted to be central. It’s a lovely little market town with lots of interesting shops that are within walking distance as well as lots of coffee shops to stop in.
We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was fresh and well prepared with very attentive ,friendly staff.
I loved the charity shops( we don’t have them in SA) also the antique shops and restaurant
We also ate in an Italian restaurant “Ask” I think was the name and had a great meal . Very child friendly and authentic
We had a disability access room that was separate from the main hotel. It was large and had a big wet room. The menu, (evening meal and breakfast) was varied and of very good value. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very easy access to town and station. The hotel gave adequate reminders about the lack of parking. All in all a very good stay.
The bed was really comfortable. Reception staff were very helpful. Bedroom and Bathroom were very clean. Bottled water was provided together with a selection of teas. Location was good and also having a carpark was a bonus. It didn't really matter that the hotel didn't serve breakfast as there were plenty of places nearby.
The staff are so lovely and the rooms are always fantastic and comfortable.
The location is brilliant as well, just an all around excellent hotel. I always look forward to visiting for business and very nice to come for pleasure as well!
Hotel staff exceptional, very friendly, very helpful. Bed was a super king and comfortable, room was large but a bit dark, TV worked well, tea and coffee facilities OK. Very quiet rooms. Good location in the Town.
Staff were great . Friendly and helpful . Peter was very helpful . From giving local information to booking taxis . Hotel was clean and tidy with spacious rooms
This is a slightly tired but pleasant hotel but without any food service. That said, there are plenty of places nearby but not so good for the solo traveler.
Lovely, individual room, very comfy bed, not too small, bathroom with huge shower. The place is hard to find from the High Street, but it's super quiet!
