We chose the location since Liver View is so near to Seacombe Ferry - in order to cross over to Liverpool the following day. Cost wise it most likely saved us pounds!
However, there is plenty to see in Birkenhead, too; we took a short drive to New Brighton on the eve of our arrival.
Liver View is very spacious, clean, freshly painted, light and airy. We parked our car in their car park behind the hotel. Dave, the owner, is exceptionally friendly and chatty and attended to showing us around the hotel initially, and cooked us a delicious full English breakfast. We stayed 2 nights. Very comfortable bed.

Comfortable room with river view as requested. Nice toiletries and room tidied, refreshed - though actually we didn’t need new towels as this is not very ‘eco.’

Where we stayed it was within easy reach of a lovely walk a long the front by the Mersey going all the way to New Brighton. It's about 2.5 miles but on a summer's evening well worth doing as there is plenty of entertainment and restaurants in New Brighton. It provides a great base to explore Liverpool and Chester.

A quiet area and a bit neglected but some beautiful architecture and some good places to visit. We enjoyed an open mic night at THE SWINGING ARM, a meal at the lovely vegan eatery JORO, and the Woodside Village stalls at the weekend. We also visited Birkenhead Park which inspired Central Park New York but found it rather shabby.

The market used to be quite good but not now, not many stalls open which is understandable with the way things are with the virus. Quite a few shops closed now in the town centre. Apartment was couple of miles away and nothing around it.

We were given a guided tour of the old Town Hall, which is splendidly Victorian. Birkenhead Park is very pleasant for a walk around and there's a decent cafe too. It was the inspiration for Central Park in New York and the first public Park in the world - keep the masses healthy and they'll work harder!
Very friendly owners, helpful and welcoming.
Good breakfast. Good temperature in the room (you can make it warm in winter, which I always struggle with).
Comfortable mattress!
The hotel is located next to the ferry, but the ferry doesn't do commute on weekends or early mornings. Ask the owners for the info on how to use the ferry on weekends and not pay the full tour price. There's other public transport available, but as I was driving, I didn't need it.
Car park is available behind the hotel, which is really helpful.
What a excellent little find this was, We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and most of all warm it was when we walked in. The accommodation was spotless and April was very helpful and easy to get hold of. The beds were comfortable (always a bonus :) ) We usually come to the Wirral once a year and have stayed in hotels, but this will be our go to place in future !
The host was very welcoming but did not interfere. The facilities were of a good standard and everything was labelled well. The atmosphere of the house was very relaxed and calming. Super comfy bed and a spacious room as well. Short walk to Birkenhead town centre also. Would definitely recommend.
- nice pubs around
- very spacious apartment, three separate rooms
- clean and pretty, had everything we needed
- bakery and convenience stores nearby
- good connection to everything, busses to move around Wirral (go to New Brighton and walk around the beach there) and subway to go to Liverpool
Simple but immaculately clean and comfortable, this room option makes a perfect base to explore the surrounding Merseyside area, without the hustle I'd Liverpool directly. The facilitator, Mark, is very friendly and helpful, and would certainly look to this as a first option for a return visit
Dave the manager And staff were so informative and helpful, breakfast was great, bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean, great view over to Liverpool, hence the hotels name the liver view, and seacombe mersey ferry two minutes from hotel.
Excellent location for Arrowe Park Hospital , Liverpool and the wirral. Plenty of pubs and cafes/,coffee shops . Safe off street parking and 5 minutes away from the M53 for access to Chester Manchester Liverpool and North Wales. Well recommended.
Everything was wonderful, great value for money, David and Sheryl were lovely hosts, full of knowledge and helpful advice on our trip to Liverpool. The ferry terminal was just a couple of minutes walk away so easy to get into the city.
Super friendly and helpful host helped made my stay enjoyable. I had a nice view of the Liverpool skyline and could see big ships passing by. The bed was among the most comfortable that I've had in a hotel. Excellent!
Exceptional little house in Birkenhead, fully renovated and very close to the place where I worked over the weekend. Very warm, clean and comfortable. Kitchen appliances all working well.
Very good location, especially for the Mersey and Irish ferries.
Very welcoming. Room was ready when we arrived. Very friendly and helpful owners.
Excellent breakfast, freshly cooked.
It was ideal for all our needs. Train station to Liverpool only 5 mins away. Any problems, there was always someone at the end of the telephone to help.
Would recommend it Fürther.
Immaculately clean and great location. Hosts were brilliant too and a fantastic breakfast. We will return. Great location as it was just a short bus ride into Liverpool centre.
Great Breakfast, Extremely Comfortable Bed. A fabulous hotel in a great location and super friendly welcome. A real gem of a hotel, I'll certainly stay here again
