Room was a reasonable size; clean throughout; hotel is well located. It is an option. The problem is the association with Hilton. If Hampton dropped the Hilton association, and was honest about the economy level it appears to aim at, expectations would be managed well.

The 4-star Principal York, formerly The Royal York Hotel, is set in quiet gardens, with views into the new Garden Room overlooking York Minster.

We have stayed at other similar venues but after what we got included in our current stay it worked out more expensive. The little things count, shower gel, soap, nice coffee and tea, yummy all you can eat breakfast that doesn't mean going off site. And, most of all, lovely friendly staff.

The Minster Hotel offers cooked breakfasts, free WiFi and elegant rooms.

The overall stay was excellent the staff was very pleasant the room was very nice had a excellent night's sleep the bed was very comfy with dead nice soft pillows lovely little room x nice quiet through the night and breakfast was offered by a lovely gentleman ,also there was lot to choose from toast ,fruit ,etc and could order a hot breakfast , I would definitely recommend this lovely Hotel with great staff and cleanliness o and the private parking was great kept the gates locked until wen needed thankyou to everyone that made our stay lovely 😍
