It was lovely having the lounge areas at this accommodation, so we didn’t feel restricted to staying in our room. Lounges were spacious, quiet with just very low back background music playing, with views over the garden and plenty of room for everyone. Spa facilities were a real bonus, as well as, on site gastro pub. Plus regular bus service into York, just a short walk to bus stop.

I took a single room, with a bathroom and it had everything I needed for a cosy stay. The street is quiet at night so I had a good night's sleep. I unfortunately arrived later than expected to check in so could not book breakfast, but I was up and out early anyway so could grab a bite on the way into town. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful - thank you for your assistance!

It is also convenient for the nearby river and moored boats. The small village shop is very well stocked and includes alcohol, fresh pies and fresh vegetables.
