We’d came to see a band at the Buxton Opera House which was literally on the other side of the road. It was easy to park in the street outside, and on this occasion we weren’t charged.
The building itself is a real Georgian gem, and beautifully furnished and maintained. We’d stayed at the Palace Hotel across the road, last year which is has sadly gone the other way, so our stay at No.6 lived up to expectations this time.
We had a really spacious room which overlooked a quad so was really quiet, resulting in the best night’s sleep in ages. Beautiful en-suite with a proper power shower to wake us up, loved it!
Breakfast is served when the Tearooms open at nine. A little pricey but worth every penny as it was quality and delicious.
Just outside the Peak District National Park, The Three Horseshoes Inn offers stylish rooms and high-quality restaurant dining, as well as access to the spa facilities for a surcharge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawthorn Farm Guest House, the room was cosy and comfortable, perfect for our needs. Paul & Sarah were superb hosts, friendly and welcoming and providing local knowledge of places to eat when we arrived later than planned. Breakfast was great, with so much to choose from and a warm and friendly atmosphere to enjoy it in within the beautiful old farmhouse. Nothing was too much trouble and whilst it was a fleeting visit for us, we would definitely return in the future and recommend to others.
