The inn is delightfully located, easy to get to but out of the way at the same time. A small staff, headed by the redoubtable Alice, is unfailingly charming. Friday night's dinner was excellent; pan-fired sea bass on a bed of vege risotto was a very tasty surprise.

Personally I loved the building although others might find the ongoing house renovation off putting. Old buildings need love and care and this one is certainly getting it. Our room was enormous and very comfortable.

Good base, we walked in Shropshire, visited Powis Castle, visited Ironbridge and spent a day on the beach at Borth. As well as eating at the property we ate at Spice Uk in Welshpool, had fish and chips at the beach and Zizzi's in Telford. All the above were 45 mins- 1 hour away except Borth which was 1 hour 20 mins away from Forden.
