It fulfilled all our needs. We travelled back and forth for the Girvan folk festival. The kitchen and living space was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The campsite was quiet and well located. Only suggestion would be to enclose a site map to help find the caravan, it took up a bit of searching to find it. But apart from that I would happily recommend it and would definitely use it again.

Beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean, fitted and furnished to a high standard
Clare so helpful and made checking in and out so easy
Girvan is a hidden gem. Gorgeous old buildings. Beautiful, clean beach and harbour. And genuinely friendly people. I had a great curry there too, at Jasmine’s. Art centre, community garden, great library, antique shops and brilliant accommodation at the Southfield Hotel. All easy walking. Surrounding hills and scenic views of Alisa Craig and Arran are stunning.

Great views across the sea to Ailsa Craig.
Great views across the sea to Ailsa Craig.
Apart from that it's a dump!
Noisy Fair across the road from our B&B. Rows of neglected terraced seafront houses and B&Bs. Gangs of noisy kids roaming. Numerous closed and derelict shops on the High Street.
Would never go back again.

The beach was fantastic and clean.
The beach was fantastic and clean. The town centre was closed when we were there but plenty of shops to look around. Fantastic views all around from every road. From mountains to the beach and lots of old historic looking buildings. Lovely harbour to walk on and a you can catch the ferry to Ireland. We enjoyed our overnight stay there. Lovely fish and chips from the fish shop near the harbour. Lots of parking. Everything mentioned was all within walking distance of each other.

A lovely quiet cottage up a lane that houses a few other cottages. The cottage is a short walk from the beach and the town. Beach was clean and had a pleasant promenade. The town has some empty shops at present. The local people were very friendly.

It’s a lovely place for dog walkers or couples or lone travellers to go, for family’s it’s ok but you need to travel into girvan for a decent play park, they have a small kids soft play which will entertain young kids from age of 3-6 years as it wasn’t up to much! There is amusements for the older kids, a lovely harbour and decent enough park, there is also boat trips you can go on aswell! It’s a nice enough place but I’d say it would be more suited to couples rather than families with a few young children! There is a very small asda also and few shops to explore within the town! You also have turnberry lighthouse that you can visit and culzean castle, it’s £30 to walk the grounds of culzean castle without going into that actual castle it’s self!

It's great for kids the beach is spotless.
It's great for kids the beach is spotless. Theres also a play area for kids out the back of the bar restaurant onsite. Food is good and there is a swimming pool which you have to book. Caravan I stayed in was spotless I will definitely be back. Great for family break. 👍👍👍
It was clean throughout everything you needed was available. The continental breakfast was nice and plenty of it. The hotel was in a nice location even though it is beside a main road . The courtyard is accessed from your front door and has picnic tables available. The hotel also has hand sanitisers throughout the property. This is the second time we have booked this Hotel and we will be going back . The reception isn’t manned but you can speak to them through an intercom they then come and greet you at reception and show you to the room .
The room at the top with a full sea view, easy chairs by the window, a double shower and comfortable bed was better than we expected. We were told that we could arrive as late as we needed to (after a long journey) and the generous continental breakfast was available all morning. We used the hotel front garden for an al fresco fish and chip picnic and the guest provided and washed up our crockery. We were offered a glass of wine with our host. They could not have done more to make our stay both comfortable and memorable.
Spacious, everything you will need, a bath which was great, modern but homely, quiet, lovely caravan. Easy contact with owner. Trips to Turnberry lighthouse were great, just ten mins away. Girvan is ten minutes away. Took trip to Robert Burns museum and cottage which was about 20 mins away. But the whole area is peaceful and great for a time away to just relax. Doing the dishes I could look out to the sea. Enjoyed our stay. We had good weather and sat out on decking drinking strawberry daiquiris. Perfect
All meals were excellent. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, both "full" and "continental" breakfasts were offered. The evening meals were exceptional - the quality, choice and value for money could not be faulted and they were LARGE!
The hotel was clean and the room was large and bright with tea-making facilities and a good choice of beverages!
The staff were unfailingly helpful and cheerful.
Yes, I would recommend this family run hotel and yes, I would return.
Unfortunately the restaurant and bar have not yet reopened but we were able to enjoy a delicious meal via room service. There is a local shop selling chilled beer which resolved that problem too. The hotel is clean and very presentable inside and out. Our room was very nice in every way - comfortable bed, great shower, and good size of room. We had all the breakfast, milk and other foods we needed in the well stocked kitchinette.
Our first night in Scotland we checked into the Southfield. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was great to get to nearby takeaway and pub, or take a walk to the waterfront. We requested a cot and everything was set up when we arrived and the rooms were lovely and had private updated bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and cooked fresh to order. I would definitely stay here again.
What a lovely, well-equipped home. Very comfortable and the super-king size bed was amazing . Cute courtyard garden for sitting in the sun or watching ovet the water. Or even trying a bit of fishing!
Great hosts, very welcoming with lots of little extras like tea, coffee and biscuits. Would heartily recommend to all for a wee break in Girvan. Hope to return sometime. We loved it ❤
The location was good, the caravan has a fantastic view out from the balcony. The neighbours and people around the site were friendly. Maidens and Girvan are not far to drive to, and there is a lovely farm shop nearby. The host had covered all areas within the caravan, making the stay very comfortable and pleasant. The weather was amazing too.
Great location. Some facilities limited due to covid regulations and the time of year but clearly stated in the accommodation description. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and great views. Did not have a lot of interaction with the hotel staff again due to the covid regulations but the owners were very friendly and accomodating.
Well appointed and spacious, spotless, convenient parking, easy to find. The restaurant was closed due COVID but we were able ro order a full meal in our room from an extensive menu, delivered to our room. Delicious! Good choice of breakfast items supplied in our kitchenette too.
The caravan was modern and well equipped with free wifi on a quiet location on the campsite. There were walks along the coast with stunning views and towns (Ayr, Girvan) were within a short drive. The staff at the campsite were very friendly. Very competitive price for our break.
Beautiful cottage, spotless, comfy beds, everything you need inside and lovely wee garden to sit in outside. Sue the host was lovely, she brought the keys and gave info on what was round about. So close to the beach for our old dog. Loved the cottage and Girvan.
What an amazing place to stay, I only wish it was for longer. An excellent breakfast, one of the best I've had while being away, served in the room and accompanied by a beautiful sea view.
Can't recommend highly enough and excellent value for money.
I booked the room for my Dad who was in Girvan for a funeral. It was like my Dad had come home. He felt relaxed and comfortable and had a few chats with the owners. Everything was immaculate, The food was lovely too! Highly recommend.
Cleaner Elaine very helpful and Paul also very pleasant person hotel perfect for couple days break and 8f anything wrong just tell them and sorted quickly well stocked room for coffee continental breakfast fruit etc
There is a beautiful city garden across the street. I had a lovely time strolling through in the early morning.
The hotel served a great meal the evening we were there.
The kids loved the Easter welcome pack. Accomodation was spacious for 4 and 2 toilets an occasional bonus lol. Location good for Galloway forest walks and nearby Girvan.
