The Angel is a 16th century former coaching inn and maintains its many period features. My room was Lord Nelson (205) - the rooms feature the names of famous guests - with a bedroom, separate sitting room and a bathroom. It is extremely spacious, nicely appointed and very comfortable. The location on the high street makes it ideal for exploring the town. The reception staff were super-friendly, welcoming and helpful.

I was there for business, not as a tourist, so cannot comment in detail. The traffic can be very troublesome. The property where I stayed was outside the main town centre, which would cause me to choose it again.

Firstly, Guildford is a very busy little town, with a dual carriageway splitting the place in two. The cathedral is definitely worth a visit, stunning architecture and views of the surrounding area. Lots of choice for dining and drinking. If you like a trad pub with good choice of beer and live music, then try the Star on Quarry Street. Recommended.

Small town vibe.
Small town vibe. Very vibrant and l enjoyed the delicious cuisines. I don't like the fact that everything shuts down at 6pm even on a weekend.
The closing time should be looked into, especially on the weekends.

Bit tricky to find town centre.
Bit tricky to find town centre. Cobbled streets are lovely but not ideal for wheelchairs. Nice individual shops and eateries. The park and ride signage remains but is no longer running. Parked in York car park. The exit to town centre is on level 9 but no signage

Lovely river walk with good riverside pub for lunch or dinner.
Interesting castle with beautiful spring flowers.
A theatre with good range of performances.
Older people should be aware the High Street is quite a steep hill.
Lovely town - many nice places to eat.

A huge range of shops and coffee houses.
A huge range of shops and coffee houses. Everything is close walking distance of The Angel Posting House Hotel; 2 maybe even 3 shopping malls, so even if its raining you can shop. Unusual shops, one off shops and designer shops.
Information Centre in the High Street, very helpful and got a map of town and surrounding area within walking distance. We parked outside of the town on housing estate as parking limited and expensive in the town. We walked from there along the river about a mile into the town centre.
Holiday Inn, like Premier Inn....you know what you are going to get so you have to pay a little more for this. So rm good, breakfast good, something that one will happily eat on the evening menu (bit pricey but you do not have to travel for it).
I needed somewhere with no hassles, nice staff, in house food, everything working etc etc....and these places do it without exception.
PARKING: its a bit disappointing that despite the price, you have to pay extra for parking in a machine outside. A bit of a piss take I thought.
Lovely, comfortable, and clean accommodations in centuries old building. There is street noise of revelers late into the night, but that is to be expected when you have the luck to have a view onto the High Street. Excellent location in the center of Guildford. Drawback to location is the difficulty of parking and even of loading or unloading luggage - the road is blocked to traffic most of the day. Staff was exceptionally helpful and even helped us with our luggage all the way to the car park. Would stay again.
Nice welcome - I was even shown to my room by the lady at reception. The room was huge, beautifully made up, and had everything I needed. Nice big shower and, despite being just across the hall from the bar, the double door meant it was very quiet during the night. Great location right in the centre of the shopping district of Guildford. Being able to see the really old parts of the hotel was also pretty cool - what a history it must have had!
welcoming of the receptionist the ambience of the hotel comfort and cleanliness quirky room which had wonderful views and is in easy distance of Guildford. Albeit spa was busy we did what we wanted to do and had a great chill out. This is our go to hotel in this area and price given the facilities and establishment well worth every penny. on this occasion we did not eat at the hotel
very comfortable room, the restaurant was busy but the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the food.
the breakfast was of good quality and served quickly.
the hotel is set in a lovely location for walking or for visiting Guildford and London is easily accessible by train.
The flat was centrally located in Guildford and within walking distance to shopping, transportation, and restaurants. The check-in process was smooth and staff very helpful. The flat was nice and modern with lots of space. Staff were friendly and attentive. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The staff were all superbly customer-focussed in this hotel--noticeably more so than in other Holiday Inns even
The property was very nicely redecorated
The breakfast and evening meal were good.
It was a short and easy drive to Guildford
We did have a fridge in our room
Beautifully converted garage with every convenience necessary for a visit to Guildford. It's bright, spacious and less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Guildford's main shopping area. Definitely better than a bed only booking in a hotel.
The room was a good size ,Sunday was a breakfast served by the waiter and Monday was buffet both were lovely and the staff were very helpful with anything you wanted. And only a 5 minute walk to Guildford town centre.
this property was very modern and had a boutique style , was greeted by a member of staff at the reception who booked us in and made us feel very welcome from the start . very well located to Guildford town centre .
Our room was sparkling and beautifully decorated. After a lovely walk in the neighborhood (recommended by the hotel staff), we enjoyed a delicious, leisurely dinner in the restaurant.
Very convenient for the town centre, great to have a parking space too. Its no frills, very functional and excellent value. It was perfect for my one night stay in Guildford.
Good size room in a good location. Accommodation is separate from the pub so you aren't disturbed by the music. WiFi and TV. The bed was comfy. It was cheap.
Love the hotel , receptionist argumentative and unhelpful. Duty Manager Marco great guy , did all he could to help a misunderstanding on the hotels part.
