Lovely room, very well equipped, comfortable very large bed. Quiet location and very friendly and welcoming owners and staff. The food - dinner and breakfast - was exceptional, as was the service. Would highly recommend!

Walked up the steepest street in the northern hemisphere which was challenging - took me about 7 minutes. Castle is very good. Nice cheese and beer shop opposite the castle. It was a good base from which to travel to other towns.LouisaIreland - 8.0Scored 8.0

Best beach in the world.
Best beach in the world. We spent 3 days on the beach in Harlech and could have spent much longer. Castle is always spectacular. Travelled around on public transport only, went on Ffestiniog railway. Great couple of shops in Upper Harlech selling all homewares, and fresh food. Groser Harlech great for breakfast pastries and organic produce. Lovely walk around to find the 5 Merion chairs. Woodland walk down from chair 3 to lower road through woodland, a cave and a waterfall in someone's garden.

As the weather wasn’t good.
As the weather wasn’t good. Heavy rain we didn’t get onto the beach as intended or indeed explore the local area as planned. Harlech has a lot to offer as we have been there previously and we intend to visit again. Country side and views are amazing and the Castle restaurant in Harlech does amazing food.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Harlech has a great Castle and an amazing beach (approx 5km long and separated into dog / no dog zones). There is a lot of self catering accommodation but you really need to travel to the next town (20mins) for a bigger shop. Porthmadog has everything. If you want to eat out in Harlech, there's very limited choice (we only found 2 good places, both hotels) Besides the beach and castle, there is golf and good walks. If you after nightlife, probably not for you.

You see the dunes, beach and entire bay and mountains far into the distance. We had a sea view room with unobstructed views. The lodge is a beautiful old house, full of authentic woorden details. I loved all the different wallpapers. Our room was big, very clean and had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast had many options and was delicious. The couple running the hotel was very friendly and chatty. We enjoyed our time in Harlech very much.YorickNetherlands

Deborah was very friendly and always happy to chat with us and give recommendations of places to visit in the area. The property stands in a lovely peaceful location away from town, but easily accessible by car and close enough to neighboring village for evening meal. Plenty of off-road parking available for guests. Excellent breakfast choice include, pre-ordered to personal preferences on preceding evening.

Hotel is up a steep hill but do not let that put you off as the views are spectacular. Adam and Tracey are wonderful hosts, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable of the area and generally lovely people. Breakfast was gorgeous with an excellent choice...and vey plentiful. Our room (5) had a beautiful sea view and was peaceful spotlessly clean, well stocked and replenished. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge cooker microwave washing machine and even a dishwasher. The location is real getaway from it all so you can take on the stunning scenery. A lake about 2 miles away or in the other direction are some waterfalls. Lots to do in the area Harlech Castle shell island portmerion and snowdon.

The owner was very welcoming even offering to make a pot of tea on our arrival. The owner had added lots of thoughtful things for the house/room (eg. A small fridge in the room supplied with fresh milk!) The whole house was scrupulously clean. The owner gave us lots of local information about the surrounding area.
