Staff were extremely kind and accommodating; sorted out our room even though we had arrived 3 hours early, allowing us the time to spend the day in Edinburgh. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.
On Princes Street, opposite the Scott Monument and National Gallery, Mercure Edinburgh City - Princes Street Hotel has an excellent location, a friendly atmosphere and views of Edinburgh Castle.

I don’t know why the rating is a little bit low for this hotel because to me it’s really good. Our room is very spacious and clean. They also provided amenities. The reception is also very nice too.
Situated in the centre of Edinburgh, the Motel One Edinburgh-Royal is 5 minutes’ walk away from the train station, and only half a mile from the Castle. Guests can reach the historical St.

Very nice hotel with stylish furniture. Booked a room with a view - was definetly worth the extra fee. Great location, main attractions in walking distance. Clean room.

The location is wonderful
The breakfast caused physical discomfort for both of us, in retrospect (later in the day).
Overlooking Carlton Hill, Princes Street Gardens and Waverley Station, the 4-star Scotsman Hotel was originally built in 1905. This majestic, listed building was once The Scotsman newspaper.

This hotel is CONVENIENTLY located right outside of the train station. Like, literally across the street from the exit. It couldn't be more perfect. You'd think with it being so close, it would be noisy but far from it, it's very quiet. The room was stunning and we had a bottle of champagne and chocolates waiting when we arrived in the room.
We ate dinner downstairs in the restaurant and Callum, our waiter, was delightful and friendly. Lovely guy.
We stayed two nights and had a sit down breakfast for one morning. The next day we had an all day tour of the highlands and Loch Ness so didn't have time to sit down and eat a breakfast but they did pack up fruit and snacks for us to grab on the way to our trip pickup point.
Excellent hotel and not far from the castle or the Royal Mile shops and restaurants.
Fantastic for distance to Edinburgh. Bus stop right outside with bus every 25 minutes into town centre. Great choice for breakfast, fantastic value for money. Ability to access rooms after pub closes through fire exit at rear of pub.

Lasswade suited our purpose as it was more or less equidistant from Loanhead and Hillend ski centre.
By the way, we recommend Hillend as well.
Easy travel to Edinburgh and also to the coast so that we could do long walks.

Really helpful staff.
Really helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble, food excellent. We had a twin room at the front of the property which was small and very noisy due to the busy main road to the front. We would stop at the Laird and Dog on travels up north as a stopping off place but would request a room to the rear of the the property due to noise levels. This in a good location for anyone one wishing to visit Roslyn Chapel as it’s only five miles away. The chapel is breathtaking.
Wonderful setting in rural area, but close to several towns with shopping and dining facilities. Very quiet location with interesting local walks. 20 minutes drive to seaside town of Portobello, nice eateries in Lasswade, about 5 minutes drive.
Also very near Roslin Chapel, however a temporary road closure made it more of a round trip. Would recommend and would stay again if available
Staff all very friendly and helpful made you feel very at ease, especially the manager. Breakfast was amazing in the morning. Very very nice downstairs in the bar/restaurant area with some lovely little quirky extras to talk about i.e the well. We stay in different hotels every few month just for weekends away and this by far has the best bed I've ever slept in..so so comfortable!
We enjoyed our stay very much! The cottage was clean, comfortable and the perfect size for three travelers. The location was beautiful and we loved the nature walks around the estate. Also, it was easy to get into Edinburgh by parking at the train station just down the road. Highly recommend, thank you to our hosts for the great stay!
The hotel was well positioned for Edinburgh, had a bar and restaurant and also live music(not too loud) on Saturday night. The room had everything I needed for a short stay on my own with large smart TV. Staff were always busy but friendly and helpful. I did not sample the food but judging by the car park it must be good.
The hotel has some selection for breakfast: non-vegetarian and vegetarian, we ordered both and both are super delicious!
We came all the way from Indonesia and we didn't regret coming to Laird and Dog Inn. Everything was perfect. Definitely will be back again!
There was nothing not to like. Great hotel away from the hustle & bustle of Edinburgh City but with ease of access getting into and out of the city. The hotel is clean, comfortable with friendly staff. Fabulous Scottish breakfast.
Very nice quiet location with a lovely view.
Very cosy, clean. Parking. Wifi. All good. 5 minute drive to the Original Roslin Hotel for the half hourly bus into Edinburgh city centre. Lovely walks in the Glen on the doorstep.
Great location with bus stop right outside the front of hotel. Staff friendly.
Great value for what we paid which included breakfast and free parking. Comfy beds and great sleep.
