Longnor was super easy to get around and everything like the supermarket are very easy to get to. We didn't really eat out on this trip because we decided to cook our own meals, which is why I really appreciate the fully equipped kitchen that Carder Cottage provided.

Fantastic place, clear ethical values throughout the whole place. Small touches to make you feel welcome, nothing too much trouble. Amazing breakfast. We were guided to great places to eat a short journey away by car. So many delightful walks to enjoy, with Jonathan's expert.hand. Made so welcome by Jane, Jonathan and Freddie, wish we had stayed longer.

The property was a gorgeous 18/19th century cottage between the local shop and a cafe. Longnor is a beautiful Peak district village with all the basic facilities to enjoy and Buxton only 6 miles away. Lovely walk along the Manifold river. Good local lively pub with good out door seating and roaring stove if cold. We didn't spend all our time in the village but did visits to Rudyard reservoir and spent our final day at Bakewell market.

Longnor is an excellent base.
Longnor is an excellent base. It has a handy corner shop. 2 out of 3 of the pubs listed have effectively closed, and on Monday every thing but the cornershop is closed. But, it is very close to other towns, if you don't mind driving.
