Lowestoft is a busy working port.
Lowestoft is a busy working port. It has stunning beaches with golden sands.
We have family who chose to live there so we are lucky enough to visit them often.
We are wildlife lovers so there are so many places to visit a ride away like Minsmere and Carlton Marshes and the Norfolk coast.
The trip boat for Oulton Broad goes from right outside the Wherry Hotel and smaller boats can be hired.

Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town.
Lowestoft is a traditional seaside town. A beautiful beach south of the town, great for bathing, games and walks, and a beach north of the town that is more scenic but inaccessible due to the tides and ruined old sea wall. Loads of local attractions to visit including Africa Alive, the Transport museum, Sparrows Nest Park, Oulton Broad and Claremont Pier. Some great restaurants to eat at, but especially Sgt Peppers on the High Street. And being the most easterly place in the UK, make sure you get up early to see the sun rise. Spectacular on a clear morning!

Interesting seaside town.
Interesting seaside town. South Beach was perfect plenty of places to eat. The town centre altho big seemed a bit tired but the beach and front area had a buzz about it. The port side of it made it interesting too
Beautiful large room with lovely, full view of the Broad (room 209 the Queen Executive Suite). Stunning sunsets. Lovely staff on reception and at breakfast time. Good English breakfast available and croissants, yoghurt and fresh fruit offered. Evening meal was a fairly good sized pub food menu with an additional carvery. Very reasonably priced. We had the fish n chips. Best we have had in a long time. Lovely white cod in a light crispy batter. Plenty of parking around the hotel. Great place as a base for exploring Suffolk and Norfolk.
The location was amazing, right in front of the seafront. Caroline was so lovely, couldn't do enough for us and even had hot water bottles on offer...which I gladly took! The hotel felt really welcoming and friendly, it was like visiting family! Thanks to Andy who did us a lovely breakfast! We will definitely be coming back again and can't wait for our next visit, it's a lovely location with loads to do. Can't recommend enough! Thanks both!
The bed and the breakfast were outstanding. Mark and Derek were fabulous hosts, always ready with some advice and help and so very friendly. The house is so tastefully decorated, a truly beautiful example of Victorian Lowestoft, so much so that I would buy it if I had a chance. The beds and pillows were so comfy, something really important to us, and the breakfast I can honestly say was the best I'd ever had in a hotel or B&B.
The guest house was very welcoming and the facilities were excellent. There is step free access to the rooms and the room I had was blessed with a fabulous view of Lowestoft beach and the North Sea. The breakfast was filling and expertly cooked by Andy the chef. The Manager/Owner Ash was very knowledgeable and made many suggestions for things to do and see within the area. It was a great stay.
Baytree is a quirky, lovely styled guest house, beautifully decorated with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The owner & staff are very friendly & accommodating. As a solo traveller, I felt very comfortable.
The hotel is a stones throw from the beach & large park in a lovely leafy quiet area of Lowestoft. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast & choice of foods. I will definitely rebook.
absolutely amazing, I was a little skeptical to start with as you only receive check in details on the stay of the stay. However this hotel was lovely, very clean great sized rooms. Most hotels at this present moment do not clean rooms or change towel etc during your stay. To our amazement when returning to our room towels were changed and beds made it was wonderful.
Cannot fault this hotel. The overall ambience is one of welcome and comfort. Food was delicious. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. They were all extremely helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer. The grounds are very pretty and lovely to sit in and relax.
We liked the personnel. Everyone that we dealt with was nice & helpful. We were made to feel welcome & comfortable. Everything was relaxed & easy. Big impressive play area for children. Very big inside swimming pool and views over the sea are stunning.
Stayed in the superior room which was finished to a high standard with a lovely Bay window. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. Situated in a nice area 2.5 miles outside Lowestoft, would recommend and would definitely stay again.
Room lovely, bed comfy, food good and varied
