The rooms were very large and well equipped. The staff were excellent although very stretched. We had to leave the hotel before breakfast started but when the staff found out they quickly cooked us some pastries to take with us. The location overlooking the loch is really good.
Small West highland village served by rail and road.

The view to the sands of morar are amazing that’s where the good review ends . We got put in room 30 at the top of the building . The shower head on the shower would not stay high enough on the rail just kept sliding down 😳 The window in the room didn’t shut right so there was a draft constantly which made the room cold . Also when the wind got up there was a constant noise which kept my wife up all night . Over all hotel very tired and dirty not worth the money avoid .

The Morar hotel is located in a small picturesque village overlooking Morar bay and sands.
My wife and I had a two night stay over and enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel staff when we used the dining room and bar facilities. All of the staff members looked after us impeccably, in particular Akram and Tuan worked hard to ensure our stay was memorable.
We would certainly recommend the Morar hotel for a relaxing stay in a beautiful location.

Morar is very quiet which was perfect for us.
Morar is very quiet which was perfect for us. It is also very well placed for exploring the surrounding areas. The beach was perfect, just like in the photos! The hotel was excellent, a very good menu and tasty food. Welcoming atmosphere, excellent staff and nothing was too much trouble. We went to Mallaig, 3 miles away, and took a boat trip and got to see Minke whales! We also took the ferry to Skye, just 45 minutes away, and had a fantastic display by dolphins following the ferry!

Morar Hotel is a lovely refurbished hotel with great views from the restaurant and the bedroom we had. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful and the food was good. Excellent buffet choice at breakfast.
Mallaig was only a couple of miles away and there was a boat doing free sailings until the 31st March which we recommend. The dog also had a great holiday running around the beautiful beaches and in and out the water.

It's an out-of-the-way place but has its own rail station.
It's an out-of-the-way place but has its own rail station. The views from the sea view bedrooms are far-reaching and can be watched for hours.
There is a Thai food outlet just a few doors from the hotel but it is closed on Mon/Tue nights.
Better priced and quieter than Mallaig, a good holding point for the ferry.
Booked a double room with sea view and this did not disapoint. Stunning views from bedroom window. Bed very comfy. Hotel is looking a little run down in some places and needs attention but overall the colour scheme in dining room and bedroom was lovely and modern. Lounge was very comfortable too. Had dinner in restaurant which was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Staff very attentive and apologised for being understaffed but couldn't really fault the service provided. Enjoyed our stay very much.
Everything. The sea view alone makes this place worth it. Outstanding view from room with sea view and balcony. The staff are extremely helpful(Akram especially) He looked after us for 2 days and couldn't do enough to help. He even kept bar open later for guests as it was busy. The food is really nice, The rooms were spotless. The hotel is exactly opposite train station and you can catch steam train passing by as well. Cannot speak highly enough of hotel.
Light and airy. Beautifully clean and well provided with linen and kitchen essentials etc. Lovely couple of owners very pleasant and helpful. Quiet and peaceful situation, easy to walk to loch morar, and a short scenic car or bicycle ride to mallaig or arising . Would definitely recommend it to all our friends wanting relaxing sanctuary. Easy parking for all.
I could not get over the amazing view from my room - booking a sea view room was the best decision ever. The staff at check-in and at the restaurant was super friendly and the food I ordered for dinner was great. The hotel isn't anything fancy, but a great place for a stop on the west coast.
The view was absolutely beautiful, it looked over the sea. The location was super convenient, we took the ferry the following morning and was just a mere 6 minute drive from Mallaig. The service was also really good, I asked for a hair dryer and one was promptly delivered by hand to my door.
Gorgeous location on the coast of Scotland. We were able to walk to Loch Morar, and down to the beach. It was only a 5 minute drive to the ferry, to continue our journey on to the Isle of Skye. The lobby decor and dining room are very nice.
Good location across from Silver Sands of Morar. The single room was small but I knew it would be. Adequate space for a solo traveler. Good number of outlets and placed well in the room. Nice restaurant and staff. Good free parking.
We have chosen this Hotel so that we could start early to the catch the ferry to Skye. There are not many other options in the area and this reflects the rates. Staff at the location was friendly.
Meals were pretty good, Dining room staff very nice and pleasant and help full and the Hotel great position over looking the sands and water with great sunset's over the lsle of Rum &Eigg
What a great hotel ; good to compare with the awful west highland hotel in mallaig . Same price different vibe and attitude resulting in a wonderful experience in morar .
