Our three night stay with my parents in law at Duffryn was exceptional. The farm and the self contained accommodation of 2 double bedrooms living area and 2 bathrooms plus a private patio was stunning as were the views of the Pembrokeshire coast. Our lovely host Sally went above and beyond welcoming us with tea and a homemade lemon cake. The “welsh continental” breakfast served in her beautiful kitchen was delicious- local ham, cheese, bread, fruit and cereal and even homemade marmalade. It was a very special weekend. Thank you Sally!

Newport beach and town is 5/10 minutes from the property. Parog is quite close, 2 minutes by car or 15 minute walk and highly recommended, very pretty with good free car parking. Lovely walks along the coast and also estuary. Nice little café in Parog and quite reasonable prices. Well worth a visit and a favourite of ours. Fishguard is about 15 mins by car from Parog. Lovely part of the coast to explore. Llys Meddyg is a nice restaurant - excellent Sunday Lunch (best ever)

Beaches are fabulous.. In Newport itself lots of shops etc.. If you are further out is a bus service to get you to places though it's then a good walk down to the beaches abd obviously a good uphill walk back up.. There are carparks though the smaller ones get full close to the beaches when it's decent weather..

We liked everything! The shower is probably the best shower I've ever used. Isobel was so lovely and brought us through awesome breakfasts in the morning, easily catering for vegans! The bed is super comfy, the space feels private and we appreciated the tips in the booklet. The surrounding area is also beautiful, we were super lucky with the weather and managed to get a dip in the sea (in and out very quickly!). There are some great places to eat and drink in Newport and the whole place is totally charming.
This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We really liked the location as it is on a road at the entrance to a very picturesque town, like something out of a movie.
Optimal for walks.
The hotel is very nice and comfortable.
All staff is friendly and helpful. Also the guests, the local people who frequent the restaurant and bar are super friendly and made us feel integrated and local too.
Quiet and very tasty breakfast.
Easy parking at the side of the hotel, reserved for guests. A short walk to a gorgeous bays with magnificent views. Tastefully decorated room and modern bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff and you must book dinner in the restaurant there. A lovely room and very good food with original choices for the more adventurous; great staff!
Everything! The view, the underfloor heating, the massive bath, the breakfast, the view, the view, the view. I could have stayed inside all day and just stared at the landscape. It was like slow moving painting. It was honestly the best birthday treat I have had in a very long time. I can't wait to come back one day. Paradise in Wales.
Building itself is full of character and looks wonderful from outside.
Could be a wonderful place to stay once issues are sorted.
Location was good; we know Newport very well so knew where this was in relation to everything.
Kitchen was well-equipped (despite a frying pan that smelt of fish upon using)
Showers were decent too.
Quiet and peaceful, great location and only a short walk to Newport Beach. Spacious family room. Able to park the car outside the room. Fabulous evening views (weather permitting) Sitting outside as the Sun Sets across the sea having a local Ale. Links golf course. Very pleasant conversation with the owner.
What wonderful hosts Martina and Jason were - they and all the staff in the cafe went out of their way to make our stay in Newport quite exceptional. Breakfasts were truly delicious with a choice of the cafe or wonderful sunny courtyard garden to sit and eat in. Highly recommend without any reservations.
The location was great. Newport is a quaint village near the sea. The property is kept to a high standard and looks to be newly renovated. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly. We would stay there again!
This is a lovely hotel. Room 8 was lovely.
The breakfast was outstanding. Great choice and lovely service. The quality of the food was great.
We ate in the restaurant and the meal was on par with a Michelin starred restaurant. Brilliant!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tyddyn Bac. The cottage is very homely with all the facilities that anyone would need. It is within easy walking distance of all the excellent pubs and restaurants in Newport.
A lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly, room and bed very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. Would definitely stay there again and recommend the Golden Lion to others.
Spotless, excellent decor, location perfect for Newport and the wider pembrokeshire region. Right on the coastal path. Host was excellent, good communication. Breaky was amazing
Location ideal for us as my daughter lives locally
Newport town and the beach nearby both delightful
Would recommend cafes in Newport especially Blas at Fronlas and PWNC
The bar and restaurant facilities were excellent, both in respect of the staff and quality of the food served. Parking was convenient, and easy access to the hotel.
Charming hotel with a great pub. Very good breakfast. Managers made every effort to accommodate our requests. Room was very spacious and clean. Highly recommended.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated knowing about the path to Newport so that I could avoid the road. Breakfast was fabulous.
