With good food and refurbished rooms, Rosslea Hall Hotel sits in beautiful landscaped gardens overlooking the Firth of Clyde. Set in picturesque Rhu village, it is just minutes from Helensburgh.

I loved the gardens and the bridal suite was absolutely amazing views and very spacious. Room service was outstanding.

Hotel was easy to find and it has a big parking space. The (British) Breakfast was worth the price (hat keine Wünsche übrig gelassen). The staff was really nice and always willing to help. The bathroom was modern and really clean.

"The Anchor Inn was a traditional Drovers Inn dating back to 1888. Over recent years, it has undergone tasteful modernisation and now boasts a nautical-themed bar and restaurant area with hearty food...

All the people we spoke to were very pleasant - and helpful with directions.Everywhere was clean ! It was easy to find our way around and redeveloped areas had obviously been done with great care and were ' people-orientated 'There are excellent places to eat offering a variety of cuisines at competitive prices. There is a small friendly cinema, at least one large park, an interesting ' outdoor museum ',leisure centre, boat trips and, of course " the prom " ..., and more ! Last but not least MacIntosh's " Hill House ".We had no trouble parking at the pier (but this was in October ) This is my 2nd visit and I hope to be back !

The local Clock Chimes constantly every hour and every 15 minutes thereafter causing interrupted sleeping issues.
Had we known about the clock we would not have stayed there.
In general the staff were very helpful. Except when there was a dog constantly barking for 20 minutes and no person in attendance.

We didn't stray from the hotel much as the weather was not very good, so it's difficult for us to give great insight, but as we love the sea it's great sea front views were very appealing to us. There were plenty of suggestions for things to do and places to visit to enhance our stay had we chosen to do so.

The accommodation was advertised as Rhu but was actually several miles south of Rhu at Helensburgh. This was false advertising and if I had known this I would not have booked it. The place was basically a run down council flat. I was very disappointed.

Not much to entertain in Rhu.
Not much to entertain in Rhu. Soon exhausted the immediate local picturesque walks and had to drive further afield. Not bad as a base to either head towards the major cities or out to the lowlands proper via car, or train from Helensburgh

Rhu is a small little town on the shore front.
Rhu is a small little town on the shore front. It has exceptional views of the Loch and a 30 min walk into the nearest built up town and village. The walk is beautiful because it is along the shore line and the views are breathtaking. At the entrance of the town is a pier you can walk up and we grabbed a take away, found a spot on the pier and looked out over the Loch and had dinner.
I was overwhelmed with the food choices, which was good for me (at least there was a range of options for a vegetarian who doesn't eat cheese!)
The location was great to get to Loch Lomond, it took us 20 mins to get into a town called Luss (a town great for waterspouts and cruise tours on Loch Lomond) and took us 25 mins to get into Balloch, which was another built up town with food options and further options for different historical cruises.
The location was excellent, we had a super view from our room and the breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and responsive, especially Jack in the bar. Although the weather was not great The Rosslea Hall Hotel has lovely grounds and would be a fantastic base to explore the area, ideally placed near to Helensburgh but not far away from the wonderful walks available in the area. A choice of bar menu or Restaurant food was available (we ate in the bar which was fine). Overall we would happily return to this Hotel.
Dinner in the bar was fine, (but not special enough to repeat on the second evening, so we opted to find a restaurant in Helensburgh). Location quiet and surroundings pleasant. Room was clean, warm, quiet, and well equipped, though not spacious. Staff very friendly and attentive. Car parking right outside and free of charge. Views across loch to Rosneath pleasant. Rhu is a quiet and pretty village just outside Helensburgh; hotel on a spit of land on the edge of the loch, but no direct views from hotel.
went to see Ardencaple Castle tower remaining (ancestors) but staff didn’t know where it was and didn’t spot any photos of it in hotel. Found it with Google and a local provided great info about the MacAulay castle and history. Hotel should do same as only booked it because the Ardencaple name reflected my ancestors but would not now recommend to my USA MacAulay ancestors. Otherwise was a good place to stay.
This hotel is in a quiet location and the e rooms are a good size
The most amazing part about this hotel is its staff as they could not be more helpful. we had a couple of minor issues with our vehicle and they e went out of their way to find local garages they could assist us. Their attention to our needs in other areas was also exceptional.
We requested a room with a view and were moved to the front of the hotel overlooking the sea. We also had breakfast every morning and was excellent. The weather was gorgeous and sitting at the front of the hotel wiht an excellent view, great accommodation that allowed us to explore the local area.
Great selection at breakfast served by pleasant and attentive staff. Ate 3 out of 4 nights in the hotel.. Good quality 'pub grub' at reasonable prices. Our room was a good size and the bed very comfortable, it overlooked the loch at the front. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.
Friendly staff, nice bar area, good parking facilities and great hotel location with a nice view from the room window. I also brought a bicycle and was able to store it in a function room behind reception, I would stay here again when doing another cycle trip in the area.
Very pet friendly hotel and restaurant.
Guy at reception was very helpful - was happy to fill up water bottle and give me additional coffee sachets for room.
Bar was fairly priced and not a rip off
Hotel was clean and comfortable.
All the staff were very friendly , helpful and obliging .
The Hotel obviously has a good Chef…..the food was excellent.
The room was warm and cosy…..with a lovely view .
Booked for 2 night new years package, staff were excellent, food was excellent, spa was excellent, hotel arranged a guided walk around Appleby on New Year’s Day, which we really enjoyed.
It is in a quiet location off the main road.
the room with a view was a good size.
the staff was very friendly and the food was great.
would come recommend the Hotel.
The young staff made this a very good hotel experience. They were, without exception, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. A real asset to Greene King .
We did not like anything about the hotel right from staff to room. we want the money back as this was very bad experience and expectation did not met .
