Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We loved the location as it was walking distance from Blenheim palace
The Duke of Marlborough is a quaint building just outside Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It offers free parking and hearty, locally-sourced food.

Staff all helpful and pleasant

Arrived slightly early (20 mins) but room still not ready, waited a further half hour and were told we would have upgrade to larger room however reception experience not great. Room was clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Evening meal poor, menu incorrectly typed leading to confusion and food overcooked and tasteless. Breakfast buffet very tired looking, bacon inedible, mushrooms tough and fried egg solid as opposed to runny. Overall impression hotel being run on a shoestring with young inexperienced staff and no evident management guidance.

We used this location as it is close to a railway station into Oxford. Parking at the station appeared to be free as we could not find a pay machine.
We also used the Oxford park and ride - it was excellent and very reasonably priced.
I also played golf at Kirtlington (about 10 miles away). Great course and a very friendly club.

book evening meal before your stay.
book evening meal before your stay. We were not able to because of staff shortages so therefore had to travel for evening meal. We would have had it at the hotel if possible as the standard of food for breakfast was great!

The hotel grounds, most facilities, and location were all good - the reason for selecting along with the price. Reservations made via Booking.com, with payment on arrival - for room and breakfast. However, it soon went wrong because breakfast seating (party of 6) was a problem - we were given excuses about too many guests and too few staff - even though they took our money as soon as we arrived. The first two days were embarrassing mainly because of staff attitude (not everyone, thankfully!).

The hotel is not in the village, but on a crossroads about half a mile away. The village did not seem to have much to recommend it. The pub was shut when we walked over, but that is not the point, the hotel is in a central area with lots of places to visit around.
The Room was a nice size overlooking a courtyard garden. The hotel is in a quiet location with nothing within walking distance, there is a JET service station across the road with sandwiches, beer, wine, crisps etc. Blenheim Palace is about 6 miles away and we spent Saturday there. Plenty of staff and all were very friendly. Breakfast is buffet style and contained everything we wanted. The Menu for Dinner was good and had a reasonable selection of dishes, likewise the bar was well stocked although on the high side price wise.
Very quaint, beautiful hotel and outdoors. Rooms were very spacious and very clean. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the restaurant and Will was particularly friendly and helpful. The bar and seating area was very comfortable. We asked for a ground floor for an elderly relatives which was arranged as requested.
We booked fairly short notice for a good price.
Great location for Oxford and The Cotswolds.
Very nice hotel, very oldy worldy inside, it was about 10 minutes from Blenheim Palace, and 20 minutes from the park and ride into Oxford.
The room was overlooking the courtyard, so away from the road and any potential traffic noise.
Nice choice for breakfast.
We ate in the restaurant in the evenings and the food was amazing.
Overall a great hotel with friendly attentive staff.
Our room was clean, and it had everything we needed. The bad was a bit small, but otherwise, everything was great. The hotel staff was friendly. The hotel building is pretty, and it has a lot of free parking places. Near to the hotel is a petrol station with a small shop. The location is great. We enjoyed our stay.
Very nice hotel with excellent staff and service provided could not do enough to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and plentiful and even did a plate of sausage for my dog! Would definitely stay again.
The staff are all very friendly and will help where required. The restaurant serves some excellent meals. The lounge area is comfortable. For the price paid this hotel offers exceptional value for money.
Went as part of large wedding party. Stayed overnight. Staff fantastic and helpful. Rooms clean, facilities spotless. Good location 20min drive from Banbury. Bar prices about right for Hotel
