The great thing about Strathblane is its proximity to a variety of attractions. From a distillery to being within easy reach (11 miles) of Glasgow City Centre it was a good base for our break. Forced to rely on public transport we were able to travel into the city (or towards Stirling in the opposite direction) using the hourly bus service through the village. An alternative route was to use the bus to reach the railhead at Milngavie (say it as Mulguy) for a choice of destinations including Edinburgh.JohnUnited Kingdom

We had to sleep with windows open which resulted in limited sleep as we were right next to some sort of extractor fan outside. Beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms that go the extra mile. We had a small room with 2 comfy chair and a tv as well as bedroom and big bathroom. Our daughter had a dressing room as well as a huge walk-in shower!
