We stayed at Crossways last week whilst my husband was competing at the Royal Bath and West show.
We have a dog, a three year old and a four week old newborn, so were a little anxious that the stay would be stressful and have restrictions.
Crossways was quite honestly the best place for us to stay though, and we will be coming back next year.
Nothing was too much for the staff, they ALL we just so lovely and accommodating. We were often not back from the show until near the end of dinner service, they still made sure we ate. The vibe was perfect, buzzy with an atmosphere but also suitable for a family.
We are so pleased we found Crossways and have told friends and family who also visit the show about this gem.
The High Street in Street has plenty of choice for eating...
The High Street in Street has plenty of choice for eating and drinking and, of course, the Clarks Village is just a minute's walk away. The Bear Inn, is a fabulous pub, restaurant and hotel all in one. There is also a Fondo Lounge on the High Street, a great ecclectic bar/restaurant brand which we love. Not far at all from Glastonbury too, so you can pop in and out without paying Glastonbury prices! There is also an outside public swimming pool for any adventurous tourists. We didn't use the buses but there were plenty of them around. Street is a compact, well connected and well resourced satellite town, and a great base for travelling inland and coastal Somerset.

Great shopping centre just across the road from The Bear Inn.
Plenty of things to do. Glastonbury great for eating and little shop.
Street good for larger outlets and coffee bar with snack quick bites to eat.
If you want easy access to the shopping at Street then The Bear Inn is the best place to stay.

Clarks village is great for shopping at discount designer prices and easy to navigate around. Nice place for food and drinks. Glastonbury high Street not far, recommend a walk up the Torr, recommend Rainbows end Cafe. Breakfast in the Bear was lovely. The Bear is a nice pub to meet friends for drink and food.

Lovely place Street, Clarks Shopping Village, the market and the high street shops plenty to see and the eateries there are many choices in and around. We used this as our base to travel to other points within Somerset although not many miles from other places it takes a long time to travel, little streets mainly the issue, obviously expected though (i.e. 15 miles took 36 mins driving). We went to Ivythorn Sporting, if you like range shooting then this is the best place around, Steve, fabulous man very informative and helped us make the most of our stay whilst in Somerset. Walking Brean Down was wonderful so much history to see, well worth the walk and the lovely cafe's on site. If you haven't been then it is well worth a visit. Very close proximity to lots of the coast line, Cheddar Gorge, we had the most fantastic Thai meal at ZenThai and also fish and chips in Cheddar. Most of all the weather was very kind and the sun shone for a short stay. We will return again.

Stay are helpful and kind and the food good, however All the staff are young and I feel lack experience
This is reflected in the rooms
Our room rm 12 air con not working meaning windows had to be open pub / bar very noisy and traffic loud bathroom had mouldy tiles and a rusty bath tv remote hardy worked and the windows were filthy all little things easy to put right back t hadn’t been.
Other guests we found out had complained and had been moved.
Such a shame as it should be a lovely getaway location we stayed last year totally different experience

Good base for sightseeing in the area, Glastonbury, Wells and Frome within easy reach. Large retail outlet with lots of well known names and plenty of parking in middle of village. Useful bus service so car not essential
My parents used to own a small hotel... and this reminded me of home... proper comfort in a room that was bugger than the downstairs of my house!
Great breakfast, all freshly cooked. Didn't eat dinner, opting to go to the place sown the road. #regrets... it ain't that good!! Should've stayed in... but I couldn't find a menu online or confirmation they did food. Maybe is didn't look properly..?
My sincerest thanks to Jo for your warm hospitality!! You know exactly what the travellers need. We were so impressed by what you have thoughtfully prepared for us. Hygge Somerset is a beautiful place, so cozy with good location (esp for Millfield parents), very friendly neighbourhood, nice room with comfy bed, good breakfast with so many choices... Hygge Somerset is highly recommended!
Our host Jo was lovely, friendly, and helpful. She took it in her stride and was very understanding when I had to call her past midnight for assistance. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was outstanding. Jo provided plenty of food so we didn't need to shop (eating our main meals out). I thoroughly recommend a stay at Hygge Somerset!
Roomy studio with separate kitchen and nice shower room. Very clean with everything you could need. Offroad parking right outside. Courtyard garden was lovely although we didn't use it. Excellent selection of over 80+ DVDs for evening entertainment. Walking distance to High Street and Clark's Village designer outlet. Short drive to Glastonbury.
The hotel was very pleasant, comfortable and welcoming. The food was so good we did not want to eat out. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The location could not have been better - ideal for my wife's work, and close to the attractions of Glastonbury and Street. We would love to come again.
Good place to stay in Street. Very close to Glastonbury. Prices were acceptable. Breakfast included in price of rooms. A pint of San Miguel was £4.50. Staff were friendly. Free Parking at the rear of the property. Bed was okay.
Friendly and welcoming reception staff. Good parking facilities.
Large room with bath and shower with plenty of hot water
Depite the issues raised £68 B&B for 2 in the heart of Somerset is extremely good value
The property was spacious and very clean. It had everything you could need … a home away from home. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a few days in Somerset… a great base to explore the area.
An excellent place to stay. We wanted to stay in Street (not Glastonbury) so ideal for us. A lovely location and very comfortable. Place could have been tricky to find but the instructions were spot on.
Location excellent. 10 mins walk to Clarks Village & Street High Street, & in the other direction, 10 mins walk to Sainsburys & Aldi. We also used a local bus, from the High Street, to go to Glastonbury
Great location to visit the surrounding area Glastonbury, Weston-Super-Mare, Longleat, Stonehenge & Salisbury, Bath and the very local outlet village in Street.
