A lovely old village full of beautiful traditional houses and gardens, an ancient church, two old windmills, an old bakery, old village inns, walks out to the River Trent across the Holme (ancient pasture land).

The room was clean and tidy, we were asked if we needed more tea/coffee/milk in the morning as we stayed 2 nights. The shower and bath were in perfect working order. Parking is ample and free. The area is so quite. Great value for money, especially compared to a chain hotel down the road I was originally going to book. Our dogs were welcome, we had a fantastic dinner in the pub and the rooms were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Although breakfast wasn't available on weekdays, the staff pointed us towards the village delicatessen for a bacon roll - Perfect!
