Host met us at the door. Gave us excellent instructions to the restaurant. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent: I had haggis and bacon, my colleague had full Scottish.
It was a very pleasant stay. Parking outside was not a problem.

everything was perfect
Thanks a lot
A lovely place, a lovely area. Great service and food options from The Deli, overlooking the harbour. The evening meal at The Starfish was ok, but the organisation, attention to detail and service wasn’t ok.

Tarbert is a lovely little town with plenty of shops for food and other supplies, without being a busy shopping centre. There are great walks around the area, and if you can travel a bit there are loads of places to visit, or you could just sit and watch the world go by in the harbour!

Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week.
Eating out in Tarbert can be a problem early in the week. There is a limited choice at the best of times, but most places seem to be closed on a Tuesday (and maybe some other days as well).
A tour of Tarbert itself only takes half an hour or less, but it is in an attractive setting. I suggest you pass through in the daytime, have a coffee in Cafe Ca'Dora, buy local whisky from the specialist local seller, and move on.

Tarbert is a lovely little seaside fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyle. It's a nice location with great facilities for a small village. We ate in the Stonefield Castle restaurant about two miles from the village. The setting and view from the dining room were outstanding, both the service and food were excellent.
We loved the whole place! We had a King Size room with a lovely view of the sea which was amazing! The room was Exceptionally clean and the furnishings were fab and very tasteful. The bathroom in particular was outstanding!
The location is fab as you are just outside the main centre of Tarbert which allows for a much quieter and tranquil experience.
Martyn the host was so hospitable and we really enjoyed our chats with him. Sam the puppy was gorgeous and we joined them both for a lovely wee walk along the cove.
The room was decorated in good taste with many interesting curios and art objects. The view of Tarbert Bay was stunning. I doubt that any other view in the town could compare. Allan was a very nice host. A breakfast tray was placed on the table right outside our door at the appointed time.
This was the second time we booked this room. The first was in 2018. Glad that everything was just as we remembered it.
Everything: a beautiful setting and house and gardens; a short walk from Tarbet and it's amenities and harbour. The room we stayed in was clean, well-appointed, comfortable, and a pleasant place to be. Peter and Louise were great hosts and provided an excellent breakfast - home made bread/toast - and helpful advice regarding travel and places to eat out. Ten minute drive from the Kennacraig ferry terminal.
Great location almost on the harbour at Tarbert with good eating places right outside. Parking is on the street but wasn't a problem. All was tastefully done and comfortable, with modern and traditional touches. Note there is no breakfast room. All rooms have a table - ours was compact but fine and we could look out over the harbour while eating breakfast which was delivered on a tray.
We stayed at the moorings as we had a wedding nearby at Crear. The moorings is in the perfect location in Tarbert overlooking the harbour yet far enough away that you can’t hear the main street in the evening. Andrew was an excellent host, his house is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. He makes a mean breakfast in the morning which I would highly recommend.
Beautiful old house in a great location by the ocean. Spectacular views of the bay and a short walk to the harbour area in Tarbert. Rooms well equipped and we had a tasty and sizable breakfast. They even prepared a hefty breakfast take away bag for us the day we had to catch the early ferry. Would stay here again.
Our hosts were wonderful. The room was a delight overlooking the fishing harbour of Tarbert. One could spend hours watching the coming and goings. Breakfast was wonderful - and when we said we didn’t eat bangers and bacon we were offered lively Scottish smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Breakfast was good quality and presented very well. Mexican porridge was a surprise, and was delicious. Dining room filled with interesting articles. Contributed to a “homely” feel. Seeing boats and yachts moving in the harbour was a bonus.
Beautiful home right on the edge of the village of Tarbert, with friendly and welcoming hosts. My bed was comfortable, bathroom and shower were quite nice, breakfast was delicious. Excellent and peaceful place to stay!
Tarbert is such a great seaside town and our room overlooked the Harbour and was so clean. We only had a quick night due to a ferry we had to catch but we wished we had booked an extra night to check out the area more.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel was also in a great location with a lovely view of the harbour. The breakfast was fantastic setting us up for the day.
