My room was very cosy and had everything I needed. The owners are super nice and very accommodating. The parking is a huge bonus and you can walk to the top of the town very easily. Highly recommend if you want a hassle free booking that's worth every penny.

Totnes is a beautiful town, very quirky and lots of interesting back streets to explore with cobbled paving and gorgeous old buildings. The main street is very special and full of lovely little independent gift shops, cafes etc. I have been here several times over the years and am always keen to return.

We liked the facilities in the town including the quirky cafe/cinema, The hotel was right next to the bus station and well connected by bus with the railway station, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Plymouth and Newton Abbott. Good market on Fridays and Saturdays. River Trips to Dartmouth and Steam Trains to Buckfastleigh. Good shops including an award winning butcher's

Totnes is a lovely place to visit for a short stay or mini break. We loved the variety of shops in the town which had a lovely vibe. The weekend market was fantastic! We also loved the sustainability factor! Being on the river meant there were also lots of lovely places to explore as well as the opportunity to take a delightful boat trip to Dartmouth! Totnes makes a great base from which to explore other areas like aTorquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth. There are good transport links so if you don’t drive, it’s not an issue! Would definitely visit Totnes again! :-)

Totnes is one of those places that once visited you know you will return to. It's located on a river that creates a sense of horizontal flow at the bottom of the town. Crossing the bridge towards the town centre, looking up, you may feel a little faint that the main shopping street requires quite a hike to the top of the street. But don't be larmed1 The way to do it is to zig-zag, lacing from one interesting shop to the next. Especially, explore the numerous charity shops for branded shirts and leather jackets presumably gifted by upmarket locals. When you finally get towards the top of the street you will find lovely cafes and restaurants serving delicious local foods. We decided to take away delicious vegetarian food from Seeds, and sit in the little green park, just off the nearby square.

Only visited the Steamer Quay.
Only visited the Steamer Quay. The parking payment options were crap and not working causing a backlog. The Cafe next to the Booking office was excellent and the Boss allowed me to park as I could not obtain a Parking Ticket. The Dartmouth Boat trip is good.

A good spot for an active vacation 4-7 days.
A good spot for an active vacation 4-7 days. Lots of outdoor possibilities, fresh air, good food and friendly people. Local bicycle rental would be nice. Totnes is also a kind of place where a language school for adults might be a success.
Excellent location just outside Totnes. fabulous breakfast, cereals, fresh fruit , fresh juice, choice of hot breakfast items if you wanted. Fresh home made cake and tea on arrival, fresh fruit and home-made cookies in the room. Still and sparkling water in the room as well as a selection of teas , coffees , milk and kettle .Gave us a lift into Dartington and Totnes on two evenings which was much appreciated. Very comfortable bed, good en suite shower and toiletries provided as well as slippers and bathrobes.
Absolutely everything was so lovely. Everything had been thought of from comfortable beds to bread milk and extras to get us started, bird seed for feeding the birds while sat in the sheltered courtyard.
Beautifully clean, cosy and comfortable. Close to the shops and the castle, and the parking space too. History books on totnes which I loved reading and looking at the photos. Everything you could need and all explained in the folder thank you.
Lovely quaint hotel in Totnes, bags of character and history, bedroom was modern but also quite old.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Great location at the bottom of Totnes High St. Limited parking is available at the back of the hotel.
Water pressure in the shower was good.
Decent selection of St Austell beers in the bar.
Perfect location, wonderful valley view as advertised, with private meadow and woods to explore, great base for Totnes and all around. Lovely touches like homemade flapjacks in the caravan on arrival. Caravan itself was spacious and well kitted out, BBQ area outdoors a bonus! Really special trip, thank you!
The location was wonderful and that alone was worth the money. We were the only guests in the hotel and there were no guests in the bar either, it was dead. We were given an upgrade and the room was spacious however attention detail was lacking. The room was definitely worth the money. Dinner was very good.
The location is great. A pub in a quiet area of South Hams in Devon that has great accommodation and is a lovely pub for a drink and meal. All the staff are wonderful and friendly. Food is great. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to have somewhere to base themselves in South Devon.
The location is ideal for exploring Totnes and then the actual site itself is superb with Grade 11 listed gardens to explore, a pub/restaurant on site and a cinema barn. So much on this Medieval site to explore. There is a peacefulness and serenity to the hotel, despite lots of guests.
The property had plenty of space, was comfortable and the kitchen was modern with nice china and glasses and a good large fridge / freezer. Good location for Totnes and the coast. Parking for two cars was convenient. Secluded private garden was good for the grandchildren.
Cosy, friendly pub & hotel. Superb cooked breakfasts with plenty for vegetarians. I felt very welcome and relaxed as a single (woman) guest. Great range of beers and whiskeys too. Lovely location by the river and a 5 minute walk from the centre.
The room was lovely, the restaurant and bar were perfect too. The food was great, and there was a good atmosphere. The location was good too, and I liked the walk into Totnes. It's also a beautiful hotel, I love thatched cottages.
Excellent location. Great space for 6 friends. Walking distance to Totnes town. Comfortable house designed well, sofa seating for everyone and great size dining table.
