Online the pictures showed were not indicative of what we got. The host was 35 minutes late for our arrival time, we had to sit in the car waiting till they showed up. Online a restaurant was advertised, so although the Hall was in the middle of nowhere we thought we could have our meals there. WRONG, There is a huge sign advertising meals but we were informed it closed. The hall advertised excellent breakfast, but it was a cold buffet. The beds were very old and lumpy and the bathroom floor very slippery when wet, We did not stay for breakfast as we were so over this terrible place.

Everything, from check-in to departure. Our host was friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is filled with historic charm and our room was very spacious and bright with a large window looking out over the grounds. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained. The meals provided at the hotel restaurant were amazing.

Super historic private hotel in a lovely setting. A large and secure feeling car park. Lovely bedrooms with fresh drinking water and exceptional toiletries. The restaurant serves a good range of meals and the dishes are well cooked and presented. A substantial breakfast is on offer from an early start. An ideal stop on route north or south.

breakfast was excellent choice of every thing just take your pick location good walks or just sit outside enjoying the view with a drink near to Gretna outlets shopping and shops Annan plus the old work place were explosives were made well worth a visit walk along the shore to the caravan leisure centre for a meal or just a drink.
