I'd basically done a 14 hour shift to get new delivery routes ready for Tuesday so got a room rather than drive back to Kent at 10pm. Had a few beers before I went up. Nice cosy bar with friendly staff. Was a bit worried my room was overlooking the road but no problems. Slept right through, not woken up once.
Lovely clean crisp sheets on the bed. Bed very comfortable. Good water pressure so the shower was powerful. Small tubes of shampoo & body wash supplied. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room along with 2 large glass bottles of water (nice touch). Was a good sized TV on the wall (although I didn't use).
Had a full English breakfast. Very nice. Good quality produce used (eg sausage definitely NOT a cheap supermarket one & a lovely large Portobello mushroom).
All in all was just looking for a last minute place to crash my head but this place was excellent.

Old Welwyn us a sleepy, pretty little village, Welwyn Garden City (a couple of miles, if that) is a lovely little town, lots of restaurants and bars. London is 30 minutes by train. Stay here and commute in if you want a London holiday....

I was in the area to visit family and since they didn't have room for me I stayed in this hotel/restaurant/pub. It was very comfortable and the room was quiet even with the bar downstairs. The bed was comfortable, which is always important! I had the option to have my room refreshed every day if I chose to. Welwyn is a cute village and I always felt safe. I didn't eat in town since I was visiting family but there are lots of places to eat.

It is a lovely village with an very good selection of places to eat and drink. We enjoyed our walk around the village, it felt safe and welcoming. Very close to the M25 for journeys further afield. The surrounding countryside is beautiful too.

We were visiting the area for a particular reason and chose Welwyn because we were aware (a little bit) of it. We found the town very much to our liking; plenty of choice for evening meals and, surprisingly, very quiet at night.

I stayed there shortly, but there are some nice pubs around there. The Rose and the Crown (pub) was amazing and it has a very large garden through which you can enjoy the nice weather while drinking a couple of beers. It is highly recommended.
The Wellington (the boot not an old aeroplane!), is an old public house, central to the old partof Welwyn, with on-site parking at the rear of the pub.
The staff are excellent, although breakfast staff are somewhat overwhelmed, trying to serve both residents and early visitors to the pub. Anything on the breakfast menu is included in the room price.
Room are quirky but clean.
Location was perfect for us as going to Knebworth, really beautiful period hotel with individual rooms, exposed beams and masonry, with all the facilities you'd need. Not sure this hotel could meet the needs of a person with mobility issues, purely because it is a very old Inn, however we did not see all of the hotel just the area we stayed. Breakfast was superb
I found the cottage very superb, very quaint and also very clean. I found the property in a very nice location and quiet the garden’s were very stunning and kept beautiful. Would recommend and come again.
Stunning hotel with so much history and character. The room was exceptional and the bed so comfortable. Staff also couldn’t do enough for you. 11 out of 10

Very Nice little hotel with a god kitchen, and a great bar. Something for everyone
Easy parking. Fonny steep stairs. Nice rooms with everything you need.
