I liked the easy booking system and the location of the place. The grounds were lovely and so peaceful. My view from my room was excellent and the building itself was so quiet.

Good Central location. Lovely breakfast. The kitchen area to obtain more tea, coffee etc is a really useful and good idea.

Prefer room on first floor, but had not specified as booked via Booking.com rather than direct. The orange dessert was simply amazing - an outstanding culinary memory perfectly matched by the recommended wine.

The information posted about the Abbey and its construction was very interesting. It rained the entire time we were there, which was very disappointing, as the landscape is beautiful & we were unable to fully enjoy it.

Tranquil, historic abbey , much in ruins but surrounded by gardens and set alongside the River Calder. Reception rooms spacious and historic - you may well rub shoulders with senior clerics who use this location for retreats and workshops

I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey.
I did not realise that i was staying in a working abbey. This was my fault.
Although the wording was Whalley Abbey Hotel
My husband said he heard singing at around 6.30 am
or was he dreaming?
The room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view
Breakfast was in a large refectory and was very good but it had to be 8.30 am
I enjoyed the peacefulness and the tranquility and the beauty of the ruined abbey. i guess it may seem a little spooky to some
the location to the centre of town was excellent and the Swann pub
did good food and drink

Whalley is a great base for visiting the Ribble Valley.
Whalley is a great base for visiting the Ribble Valley. Surrounded by lovely countryside. Has a rail link which I used several times. Good bus services through the village if not travelling by car. Good restaurants & a fish & chip shop.
Friendly staff very helpful and a fascinating historical building with lovely grounds. Relaxing area during the day. Breakfast was also lovely with a good choice of continental and English. Decent coffee served. Be aware that this is not a hotel but a retreat that sell the rooms as a B&B when not used as a retreat. For this reason, there are no signs to inform you where it is so look out or ask for the Whalley Abby. The B&B is inside the actual building across the parking courtyard opposite the main archway entrance.
Our stay at the cottage was very comfortable - could not have been better!
Well furnished to a high standard and fully equipped- we felt very much at home there.
Beds and towels changed and a clean half way through our stay was a welcome touch.
Local amenities all close by and great transport links make Whalley a good base for exploring the beautiful Ribble Valley area.
Highly recommended.
Location is down a private lane. Very secluded but a short walk to the local pub through a gate at the bottom of the garden. The cottage was in fantastic condition and well equipped. Location was great, a short walk into Whalley. The hosts were responsive and very accommodating. Booked for a few days before a wedding at nearby Mitton Hall which was a five minute drive away.
Fabulous cottage in beautiful Whalley. We visited to spend time with our son and his girlfriend and will definitely be returning.
Spotlessly clean, perfect location and beautifully decorated. Communications with Lucy were spot on and I would definitely recommend anyone to visit. Thank you so much, Lucy. You should be really proud of your cottage!
Very polite and friendly owner. The place was very clean and comfortable. We'll located for exploring the local area. Whalley has great bars and eateries which are within a short distance.
Excellent location for exploring Clitheroe area. The facilities were very good and the hosts very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Located in the ruins of Whalley Abbey, it is a site worth visiting in and of itself with adequate parking. The rooms are simple and the breakfast is good
