South Parade where the hotel is situated is a stone throw from the beach and front. The rooms were lovely, clean and light and airy. Loved the decor. The staff who checked us in were very helpful and clear. Once we had booked and we had completed our side of the check in we had all our details within about 5minutes. Loads of shops at the top end of the street and places to eat. Will definitely be returning.

Great location, very quiet and a short walk to sea front and railway station. Nice outdoor space with plenty of seating. Bed very comfortable and the bed linen wonderfully fragrant. Property has a utility laundry room, ideal for families. Good size kitchen with many utensils and a large fridge freezer. Front room has plenty of seating.
The owners have retained many of the original features in the coving and ceiling roses, with high ceilings in all rooms nicely decorated.
Parking permit provided and we found it easy to park in Victoria Terrace which is accessed via Station Road. Plenty of eateries locally and supermarket short drive away. Ideal for couples and families. Would definitely recommend this property.,

I was disappointed there wasn’t a tourist information office but the library staff were very helpful as was the guest house owner.
I enjoyed visiting the landmarks and just walking along the coast. The Jam Jar cinema was also worth a visit.

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops.
Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops. It also has easy access to Newcastle and the surrounding area by road and by Metro. In the summer Whitley Bay is busy but in the winter it is much quieter.
I have visited this town many times while visiting my daughter. On this occasion my visit was not a holiday; I was helping my daughter to move house.

Whitley Bay is ideally place for walks along the coastal path both North up to Blyth and South down to South Shields and the pretty Souter lighthouse.
Be sure to try to time a visit to St Mary's lighthouse for a spot of seal spotting.
The walks along the promenades down to Tynemouth are all on the level with plenty of eating and drinking options.
If time allows be sure to get the tram into Newcastle Central and the train from there to Durham to visit the marvellous cathedral and castle
Stayed 2 nights to enable me to run the Great North Run. Comfortable room in wonderful farm house set in pleasant rural location with super friendly and helpful staff (John & Trish). 3 friendly and well behaved dogs made it feel homely along with the horses and donkey. Plenty of parking space and access to the metro which will take you to the centre of Newcastle and also on a pleasant journey along the coast which is well worth exploring. Very enjoyable stay Thanks David from Bristol.
This guest house is in a perfect, quiet location in Whitley Bay, 10 minute walk to the metro station, close to the Spanish City and sea front and for those who like to do a park run along the coast it couldn’t be more convenient.
The property was very clean and Jackie ensured I had more than enough tea/coffee.
Jackie was also understanding given I arrived later than expected due to a delayed flight.
I will certainly use this guest house again. Thank you Jackie 😀
Friendly, warm welcome from Michael. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the room was very comfortable and relaxing, with a lovely view over the park. The complimentary fizz and chocolates was a nice touch too. The hot breakfast was very tasty and the selection of continental items to choose from was excellent. The location of the hotel was ideal. Only a short walk to the playhouse we were visiting, the beach and local restaurant.
The location was superb, right next to the beach and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. A perfect base for me and my family whilst visiting our family in Whitley Bay. We took the kids paddle boarding at the neighbouring Cullercoats beach. Highly recommended! The hotel was clean and the beds comfortable, thank you for the warm welcome and thank you for a lovely stay! We’ll be back next time!!
Everything was perfect for our one night stay in Whitley Bay. Very warm welcome from Paul & Lee. From the really comfy bedding, to the good selection of toiletries in the ensuite, from the biscuit selection to the local recommendations for where to eat and drink, our stay at the Metropolitan was excellent. Great location for train station and for making the most of the delights of Whitley Bay.

Excellent location for exploring Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, Tynemouth, Newcastle, Seaton Deleval and a great base for exploring the whole of the North East region.
Everything. The owners were very attentive and very friendly. The room was amazing. Bed was soooo comfy. The breakfast was cooked fresh in the morning and was outstanding. I don’t have a bad word to say about this hotel. We will be back next year.
Staff were amazing nothing to big or small. Very polite. Great value for money, location was ideal as everything you need is on your doorstep. Room was comfortable, spacious & very clean. Would recommend this hotel & would definitely be going back
We loved the breakfast- amazing choice and quality, not standard bb fare, the staff - Michael is a fabulous host. Location is perfect. Whitley bay is fabulous, amazing beach and great restaurants all short distance away.
The location of this Hotel is great, right on the front. The other reason we picked this hotel, was because it is dog friendly. The room itself was quite spaciousand was very clean, a tray of tea and coffee provided.
The hotel is well located for everything in Whitley Bay. Breakfast was top quality and the room had lots of nice touches that many hotels miss. The welcome was friendly and helpful.
