Everything from checking in, requesting an extra day's stay at short notice and checking out was a very pleasant experience. I had some specific needs that Angela's team responded to and exceeded my expectations. The room was perfect for my needs and well decorated, prepared and maintained. The food experience was also very rewarding. I had breakfast and evening meals; the choice was varied and the standard can only be described as delightful. The staff were very professional and caring which was an important element of making my stay one of the best hotel experiences I have had in a long time.
I would strongly recommend anyone who has a need to stay in the area for business or pleasure to seriously look at the Everglades Hotel Widnes, it will be a very enjoyable experience.

Location was splendid. Hotel was comfortable and quiet. Some work being done to breakfast area so had a packed breakfast…work almost finished. Good selection of food in bar during day and evening.
Just off junction 12 of the M56 motorway, the hotel has free on-site parking, modern air-conditioned rooms, and a convenient location with good access to the region’s major road network.

Loved this little gem of a place. Plenty of parking and the room was spacious enough. Lovely bar below the rooms with a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. Would recommended and stay again.

The room was awful we booked a double room when we arrived there were 2 single beds. We told reception who said they would sort it. All they did was push the 2 beds together. Very lumpy and very uncomfortable.
The hot tap didn't work the shower was a drizzle, cracked floor tiles, dirty disgusting and disgraceful. We have plenty of photos to back this up. We were looking for a bin to put our rubbish in, we found a tiny little thing that fitted 1 small empty bottle of water. The wardrobe was that inadequate it couldn't fit a normal size hanger in it and we had to share it with the ironing board. The lift was dirty disgusting.
When we went for breakfast the following morning every tray was empty there was no bread no orange and no hot water, after waiting for 5 minutes we had to look for a member of staff who apologised and eventually everything was filled. Would I book this hotel again No Would I recommend this hotel No. Star rating -1

The hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment, a process which has begun in the lobby area by the looks of things. The first floor area and bedroom carpets need replacing; in any case looked like they could do with a good vacuuming on a regular basis; didn't see any been used there except for the lobby. Breakfast was ok and reception was ok. Car park again is badly in need of being resurfaced. Perhaps this will be a future phase of the on-going refurbishment. My guess is that the hotel has suffered from the effects of lack of funds due to COVID and for that the management may not be entirely responsible and are coping as best they can.

Widnes is not a tourist destination.
Widnes is not a tourist destination. Most visitors are there for business or to visit family/friends. There are some interesting museums in Widnes/Runcorn and it is a good jumping-off point for locations in Cheshire, Liverpool and North Wales.

Widnes is not a holiday resort, it’s a place to go on business, to break up a longer journey or visit family, which was the reason for my visit.
We did eat in the hotel restaurant; it was fine although service a little slow on our first night.
Traveling around Widnes can be tricky if you don’t know where your going (lots of road changes/development). If for any reason you plan to cross the river Mersey on the new Mersey Flow Bridge you need to pay up front online. Type in ‘ ‘MERSEY FLOW’
There are some nice walks and great views of the bridges at West Bank area.

I used to live in Runcorn and now find that all the road systems are really different. I appreciate where the Everglades is as coming down from Scotland can be really complicated and is central to where I needed to be. The new road systems in Widnes and Runcorn are really different and quite scary, especially when you don't know where you are going!
Perhaps a map might help? Everyone has sat navs but if you don't know where you're going it doesn't help. Just a suggestion as us older people like maps. Pesto was a great restaurant, a bit complicated but the food was lovely. Norton Priory in Runcorn, well worth a visit, lovely place. We did a Creperie in Prestatyn High Street, lovely, really enjoyed it, but huge portions so beware. So different from when I lived down here!
The property has all the amenities needed to comfortably spend a few nights. Ideal if you have got a car, as it’s got its own private driveway and it’s a quick drive to both Liverpool and Manchester. The host was very kind and thorough. A big plus was how clean the property was, including all the towels and bed linen which is something very uncommon in many accommodations across the UK. Will definitely stay again if travelling to the area again. A few food items made available by the host for breakfast were a nice plus.
This is a great house in the centre of Widnes, very close to the shops and park. It was super clean and well presented. There was a downstairs bedroom (as well as two upstairs) meaning anyone not wishing to climb stairs could stay. The breakfast food left in the property were a lovely addition and a good verity too. I did wonder if it would feel noisy as close to a main road, but it really wasn't at all. The host was lovely and available to answer any questions.
Perfectly situated between runcorn and Liverpool . Everything you would need for a weekend away or even a month was there , the shower was amazing there is a small yard with kids outdoor toys in the garden , which our youngest loved . Table and chairs in the garden were great in the sun , there was a covered area too in case it rains . It was perfect , will definitely recommend, and will be back next time we are in the area
That it was clean and it had everything you needed for a long weekend away. The staff were on the ball to help
With any needs, instruction was clear and simple. We will be using more places like this in the future instead of hotels.
The host John was very welcoming. Like home from home, just so much more comfortable than a hotel room.
Milk, cereal and crumpets etc were a great touch.
Would definitely look to book when we are in Widnes next.
Easy parking, booking in was quick and efficient, lift to the floors so easy access for anyone with walking disabilities. Room was as good as any top class hotel, everything you want.
Room very comfortable slept like a log - cooked breakfast excellent although first coffee was stone cold - outside bar area with fire heaters brilliant - nice airy reception area
not a lot, the breakfast was cheap quality, the sausages were cheap & nasty. no covid distancing distancing, when asked why, the reply was we don’t have covid round here !!!
The place was clean, really clean, with a lot of amenities/facilities.
The host was super friendly.
The location is good, not far from Liverpool but in a calm rural region.
Great accomodation, it felt like a home away from home. I was travelling for work and it was much nicer to stay here than it would be to stay in a hotel.
