How close it is to every thing how the owners were and the price and gotta say how clean it was
Loved my stay in Wigan! This town is a hidden gem with its charming atmosphere, friendly locals, and a perfect blend of modern amenities and historical charm. From the picturesque parks to the vibrant local culture, Wigan has something for everyone. The welcoming community and the rich history make it a must-visit destination. Can't wait to return and explore more of this amazing town!

Wigan has always been a decent night out, we had arrived a little bit too late to go out into the city centre, so we decided to just get our head down and have an early-ish night, getting into the room, I noticed that somebody had been sick quite recently on the carpet of the room we were staying in as it still hadn’t been cleaned up, I would definitely think about not staying in that accommodation like this again

The place I lived in for the first 30 years of my life till 41 years ago is a depressing town to walk around that is losing its character to yet another go at modern development. Too many derelict shuttered buildings. The only town with a bypass that runs through the centre of it!

Wigan is under redevelopment at present, a reaction I suppose to the changing shopping habits of people. The town is no better or worse than many others I visit, but it does look like Wigan has taken action to reintroduce housing to the town centre which should bring with it a shopping and eating revival. My access to restaurants was limited as I arrived on a Tuesday. I was recommended a particular restaurant as being one of the best in the town. It was fine and the staff were wonderful, but I wasn't told when I booked (in person) that the only option was the pre-fixe menu, the a la carte wasn't available on Tuesday. I was there to meet with friends so the overall ambience of the town was less important, but I feel that Wigan is a town that isn't there yet but is trying to get there and will be a great place to visit when the redevelopment is complete.

We stayed in room 26 and the people in the room above were noisy all night - had no sleep so checked out at 5.30am - reported noise to night porter he said they’d been in and out all night have cigarettes. He said he’s done a walk about check at 5am and he could hear them being noisy but did nothing about it - had a 4 hour drive after having no sleep - I would request a full refund
A+++
SA Stays is an excellent hotel conveniently situated two minutes out of Wigan town centre.
All facilities available including laundry, with a courtyard style garden at the rear.
The rooms are very comfortable with a variety of size available.
It is like living in a clean and well furnished house share being the type and style of hotel.
I highly recommend SA Stays in Wigan, well worth the stay.
Kilhey court a beautiful building and grounds and ideally located. The most perfect hotel for Christmas and I just love the conservatory dining area- a beautiful setting for breakfast.
The bedrooms are all good sizes and the housekeeping team are perhaps the most friendly I have met.
Kilhey court is a real attribute to the local area- it should have more events on to bring people in.
Everything, very clean and modern, even tea and coffee towels left for us 👍 would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family. Ideal for going to watch Manchester United play, 30 mins from the football stadium by car, or 5 min walk to the train station, and city centre 👍 night life looks good if that's your thing, or a nice chilled evening in w/spoons 👍
Slap in the middle of Wigan town centre, great pubs and bars near by (including the pub downstairs in the hotel) , does the job for a night out in Wigan, even got free upgrade from single room to double room due to it being quiet, which was great, also the staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming!... will definitely stay here again!
At the age of 70, I wouldn't normally have stayed over a pub with live music. However, the critical illness of a family member left me no choice, especially as Premier Inn had increased their prices to £175.50. The staff of the Charles Dickens couldn't have been kinder or more compassionate. I will remember them with gratitude.
The bed was very comfy and the room was clean, food alrightish. The place and the hotel is very very beautiful with beautiful views amd surroundings, just lovely. Very good sauna and steam room, very nice service on spa side and reception, breakfast waitresses also very helpful and very nice.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and warm, it is a 25 minute walk to Wigan centre though buses do pass by. It is in a nice area with a restaurant and another nice pub nearby. My only small complaint is the price perhaps it could be a little cheaper.
Well decorated studio area, well equipped kitchen, place felt comfortable and clean and like a home away from home. V close to town centre and minutes from big Tesco
Assumed it would be smaller than it looked in photos but was definitely bigger!
It had absolutely everything we needed upon arrival. The host was amazing from start to finish. A beautiful aesthetic to the apartment. Very spacious and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Wigan. Very central to everything.
Hotel looked tired. I was put in a room in an alcove next to the entrance and it was very noisy. Unimpressed. Room needed a refurb. Certainly needs downgrading a star. No where near as good as Wrightington Country Club.
Alan the manager gave us a great welcome. He was able to sort out all queries and explained the set up at the hotel well. The hotel itself is clean and the facilities are adequate for this venue.
we has used the mount for years as an easy location to get to where we wanted to go in Wigan and the surrounding areas. Very close to the M6 easy to get to.
