Excellent breakfast and the room was spotlessly clean

A clever set up - a number of rooms upstairs in a fairly ordinary house with a small dining room/kitchen available for guests. Breakfast goods were provided on a "help-yourself" basis - cereals, bread, eggs, milk, juice, yoghurt etc.
Having this extra space was good for writing our journal and meant we could have breakfast as early as we liked.
Our room was a good size, clean and quiet (despite overlooking a car park).
Clear instructions for access.
The Retreat is located in Charmouth, 600 metres from the Jurassic Coast and the South West Coast Path. It offers views of the surrounding countryside.

A perfect small space, very well planned. Ruth and Roger are very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast provisions were more than adequate, in particular the crumpets! The dishwasher was a very welcome addition. Safe bike storage.

We loved the Park & Ride for Lyme Regis - car parks fill up, the roads in the town are pretty steep, very narrow and full of people. The P & R took all the stress out of our visits.
Guided fossil hunting walks fill up very quickly - book before you go if possible.
