The host, Mr. Vrettos, was extremely welcoming and informative. The accommodation was basic, but traditional and beautiful. It was exceptionally clean.
The location of the property is paradise on earth.
I highly recommend this property and will be delighted to stay there again very soon.

Istron itself is a small town with some conveniences like ATM, tavernas etc. We stayed there not because we wanted to be in this particular town but because of the access it gave is to the surrounding area. With a car we could easily reach many beautiful beaches, ancient villages in the mountains, Ag Nicholas for history, churches etc. and some genuine Greek restaurants, mainly in villages. Istron is a lovely place to stay with fantastic beaches and very friendly people. It is not an overly lively resort but has enough for older teens (Palace Bar was great and had lovely cocktails too and Friends had live music on some nights). It is also a great location to explore more of the island

If you want to relax soak up good food people and sandy beaches then stay for months on end. Car is always great to move around and get further out to towns like leopetra. There are nice restaurants all around the town and beyond. Never felt like I was short of choices and this trip was during April which many places close until the season.AvinashMalta - 10Scored 10
We were there for the last week of the season (late Oct) so...
We were there for the last week of the season (late Oct) so the hotel was half full and quiet, not sure what it would be like in high season, but we had a great time! Great location, good private beach, terraces, gardens and a great swimming pool alternative. Beautiful views. The food in the hotel was amazing - we had a breakfast and dinner deal which was perfect for us. Breakfast was a buffet with good choices every day. The evening meal was 4 courses - all delicious cretan food and different every night - we would consider staying here again just for the food! They also had a great selection of cretan wine - very well chosen - all delicious. Our room was simple and functional - perhaps more 'basic' than we were expecting. The double bed was (of course) two singles pushed together which wasn't so good. The wifi in the room was non existent - this could not be addressed, so we had to use the wifi in the bar (3 floors up). They should get this right for all rooms or make it clear that there is no wifi. Ending on a positive...we found all staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful, with 'good enough' to excellent English (our Greek is terrible..). We had a lovely stay and would go back.

The location is perfect: - 3min from Voulisma beach and other amazing small bay beaches. - 12min by car from Agios Nikolaos. - very nice & traditional villages around 15-30min ( Kritsa, Kroustas, etc). - next to the rooms there is a mini market that the owner runs, which is extremely convenient for daily stuff you need. The apartment is new, fully equiped & comfortable (washing maschine, iron available). Very friendly & welcoming owner!!! I would definitely recommend & revisit.

It is very comfortable, well equipped, details are very well solved. Decoration in the garden, also lavander and fruit trees. The hosts will make you feel like at home. Super friendly, welcoming and helpful people. Highly recommend this place for everyone visiting Crete. If we come again in the east of the Crete island, we will undoubtedly book this place again.

A bit uphill (about 350 m walk from the beach), but with everything we needed for the perfect vacation. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and coffee-machine is a nice addition to the greatest view on Crete. Daily cleaning service is very helpful as well. Beach sunbeds and umbrellas are free for the guests. Welcome gifts and upgrade makes us feel even happier. We are planning a new trip there for the next summer/autumn.

Spacious shower, which were not a given in other accomodations on crete. Nice sized pool with numerous lounge chairs. Nice fruit basket. Only a 15-20min walk down to the Voulisma Beach and the small village with restaurants.
