It was self catering, but there was facilities to make our breakfast and two lovely areas to sit outside and eat privately.

Our top floor Deluxe Suite with terrace and a sea view was perfect for our 6 nights on Amorgos. A good double bed, kitchen with hot plate, a sandwich toaster, fridge, electric jug and a coffee maker. Air conditioning in the bedroom, wardrobe, safe, side table, TV and a compact bathroom with a great shower. Our room was serviced & had the bins emptied daily which was a nice touch and the bed changed after 3 nights. Out side our private terrace had views directly over the bay, a large sun bed, small table & 2 chairs & a clothes drying rack. Plenty of space outside to relax. The port less than a minute away as is the supermarket. The bus station is a 5 - 6 minutes walk - check the timetable (buy the tickets on the bus).
Surrounded by a garden, the Cycladic-style Castelopetra is just 2 km from Katapola Port and 4 km from Amorgos Chora. It offers air-conditioned studios with free WiFi and panoramic Aegean Sea views.

Everything was absolutely amazing! The studio is very comfortable and well decorated. Everything is carefully thought of and you feel at home from the first second you step in. Kudos to the first class shower, a rare thing in the Cyclades. Very modern and efficient AC is also greatly appreciated.
You will be able to enjoy a wonderful terrace right above the sea with an tremendous view over the bay of Katapola and the harbor. The studio also has a direct access to the sea below that will allow you to dive in clear blue water after going down a few steps.
No need for a car, you will be within a short walking distance from a sand beach (10min), very good restaurants on this side of the bay (5min) and the harbor (10 minutes walking along the sea) with the bus stop to visit the other parts of the Amorgos.
Giannis, the host, is very thoughtful and kind, always here if you need anything. A true paradise to discover Amorgos!
Only 100 metres from Katapola Port, Anna Studioss offers charming, Cycladic-style studios with kitchenettes and free WiFi. Guests enjoy sea views from their rooms, or from the 4,000 m² garden.

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago
With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches
( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.
Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

Nice atmosphere at night, lots of bars and restaurants, and yet a quieter atmosphere compared to other busy Islands. I enjoyed having dinner at Youkali, in Katapola, and the stunning landscape of the island.
Location is very well connected by bus with other places of the island, however, in the late afternoon you might need to take a taxi. Convenient as we arrived by boat from Naxos and wanted to drop off luggages, get a shower and go out to explore the island. Don’t miss the monastery with the view over the grand blue beach, the village of Chora and walking around in Aegiali. You can also do some hiking between traditional villages.
The property is new and incredibly tastefully done inside and out. The room had exposed stonework beautifully executed, a balcony facing the sea, and designer lighting options to create a perfect ambience. Location is optimal right in the middle of the charming port of Katapola. Parking is ample and easy. There are plenty of tavernas and shopping options nearby. No immediate nearby buildings and stone walls of the rooms provide plenty of privacy and soundproofing for this Cycladic-inspired building.
Thanks to Konstantinos and George we had an amazing stay! The location of the hotel
is perfect, on a hill, very calm, with a magnificent vue over Katapola port and beautiful sunset colours.
Our room was modern and well decorated. The bathroom as well.
Very good and generous breakfast.
Konstantinos shared with us several good recommandations for restaurants and places to visit and we were never disappointed.
Out of the 4 islands we did this was by far our best stay!
The room we stayed in was new with beautiful decor. The room and bathroom were spacious so there was plenty of room for 3 of us with 3 large cases. The balcony had a sea view and the atmosphere was peaceful. It was so convenient as Thomas’s is smack in the middle of Katapola. Angie was very helpful upon our arrival and the rooms would be cleaned every day if you wanted that - which we didn’t. I could not fault the place and would highly recommend it.
We were warmly met by Cristos at the ferry and he helped us with the luggage to our room. As the views are spectacular from this Pension there is a fair climb. Cristos used a map to explain the various beaches, attractions on the Island and suggested restaurants too! We rented a car from Cristos too. He made it easy and affordable. A must if you want to discover Amorgos. We enjoyed our time in Katapola and our stay at The Big Blue.
The apartment is located right on the water and near a beach in Katapola. It's spacious and comfortable with a small kitchen. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the ocean while reading. The apartment is fairly peaceful. Most nights we had the windows open and had comfortable ocean breezes. There is even a laundry service located across the street which did a nice job on our laundry. We enjoyed the island of Amorgos.
Stay here- hard stop. Amazing espresso, bakery, location, caring innkeepers. This is a 10/10 in the islands and will be bringing people here when we are back next summer - which, btw, was not on our usual annual itinerary but after this is will forever be. Lovely square in town, fun and kind locals- adults and kids alike- we will be back. Wow Amorgos, wow. 💛😁
Adonis was an amazing host! He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had access to everything we needed. Our departing ferry was canceled and Adonis helped arrange new travel plans and made it stress free!! Adonis is professional, helpful and responsive. He really made our stay in Amorgos special. I would highly recommend!
The host was excellent in assisting us with all our needs. We appreciated the ride to the hotel after our ferry ride, even though I forgot to make a reservation for one. We also appreciated the suggestions and the car rental that came right to our door. The location is also great for getting to and from the ferry. Thank you!
- Location close to Chora. 5 min distance with car.
- Spacious room and balcony with great view of Katapola port.
- Beach Umbrella provided with room (not sure if it's standard with all rooms but was a great addition)
- Beach towels also provided which was great.
- There was daily cleaning.
Our room has the perfect view to the port of Katapola with a huge balcony. Our host was the nicest, super friendly and helpful. Room was extremely clean, even the floors of the balcony. We could just spend our time on Amorgos without leaving Katapola. So peaceful and lovely.
Wonderful location and gorgeous view, very comfortable room and bed. Clean and quiet room, very friendly stuff.
We were able to visit many places because of the extremely comfortable location.
Close to all the stores.
Amorgos and katapola=dreamy place
The studio we stayed in the upper floor was gorgeous, brand new, immaculately clean with the most comfy hotel style bed and a huge bathroom. It is less than 5mins walk from the port of Katapola. Sofia was super nice and helpful. I would highly recommend!
Katapola is very nice place to spend time and very close to the Chora. Gialos Studios is at a very quite location with 5-6 min walk to the port. The house is very new and comfortable and the host is very helpful
Ideal location of the hotel, less than a minute from the center of the port and very quiet at the same time. Beautiful room and very comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast which we took on the balcony.
The fabulous location, right in the centre of Katapola, the fabulous roof garden with amazing views. Our host came to meet us when our ferry arrived and was super helpful throughout the stay.
The location of the hotel is excellent, at a quiet spot in Katapola. The hosts are super friendly and willing to accommodate your needs. Breakfast was amazing. Homemade, fresh, high quality.
Andreas and his friend are really fantastic and they made us feel at home. The location is comfortable and the view on the port of Katapola amazing, especially at sunset.
