We loved our stay here, were really sad to only stay one night. The room was very clean and comfortable (floor was freshly washed on our arrival!) with a good firm mattress and some useful furniture for baggage and clothes etc.
We had a really exceptional home-cooked dinner, and coffee and breakfast too. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, and made a huge effort to help us out despite the language barriers.
They also helped us with figuring out transport from Mataram to Sembalun (in the end, we got the Damri bus from Mataram in the morning, but we could have also arranged a driver).
The location is convenient for starting the sunrise hike to Bukit Pergasignan too, and there are good cafes and warungs nearby.
Note there was no shower (or maybe there was, but I don't think it worked) instead a mandi and scooper, which we didn't mind at all, but something to note for others.

We liked our stay! The cottages are new and modern, nicely decorated. The surrounding mountains and views are stunning, as is the view on their strawberry field. We stayed one night to hike Pergasingan hill the day after and enjoyed it. The bed and pillows are comfortable. We liked the flatscreen tv and the cozy lights for the evening (around tv and next to the beds). Enough power points.

The people in Sembalun are very friendly and helpful. They always try to help. Many things to do. The main attraction is to climb mt rinjani but there is also other little hills to climb and watch the sunrise/sunset. You can also do paragliding and they also do bike rides to discover around
